OBX Boatworks Plan New Powerboat Models

After the successful launch of the 32 Express at the 2012 Miami and Palm Beach Boatshows, OBX Boatworks is expanding their line up with several new models for 2013. At the Autumn boatshows customers were asking for a larger model that could be used for extended cruising and offshore fishing as well as smaller trailerable center consoles. Based on the demand, OBX is going forward with two new 38’ models and a 26’ and 24’ Center Console. These new models should be ready for launch in Spring 2013.

UK yachtbuilders Oyster launch two new models, the Oyster 725 and Oyster 885 at Amsterdam and Southampton boatshows. Both yachts have just completed fit out at the Oyster Yachts build facility in Southampton, England, and are now being rigged and fully commissioned ahead of their boat show debuts. Oyster 725-01 will make her European première at the Amsterdam Seaport Show before heading back across the North Sea to go on display at the PSP Southampton Boat Show before handover to her new owner.

Recent Shanghai Boatshow Claimed Largest in Asia

The China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS) came to a close at Shanghai's World Expo site where it had moved for its 17th rendition. Figures just in and  showed turnover up a remarkable 120% to 2.2 Bn RMB with overseas visitors up 50%, although they were responsible for a small fraction of the boat sales. Sunseeker sold one of their 40m yacht for a cool RMB 140M. Overall visitor numbers were 31,835, up a massive 40% over 2011 and with every visitor pass being bar coded and electronically scanned these figures are completely accurate and 3rd party audited. The new venue was busy, at times to the point of being crowded, at a venue that was 31% larger than the previous year and yet still with virtually all the exhibition space sold out.

The Ferretti 570 wins award as  best motor yacht below 60 ft in length at the 2012 Xiamen International Boat Show. The prestigious Chinese Yachting Industry Award was awarded to the Ferretti 570, which was recognised as the Best Motor Yacht in the category below 60 feet in length. Boat Manufacturers Anticipate China Boatshow

China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS) participating companies preview China's boating market. On April 11th 2013 the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show  (CIBS) comes of age to shows itself a key player in the Chinese water leisure market. CIBS has grown virtually every year since its birth in an underground car park 18 years ago and 2013 is no exception with its exhibition area up by 37% to 48,000 sq m, confirmed booths so far up 20% and a projected trade up around 30% to 3Bn RMB.

Northern Lights to feature its Diesel Exhaust Cleaning System (DECS) at the 2013 Progressive® Insurance Miami International Boat Show. Based on DCL International’s MARINE-X™ system, DECS removes soot and particulate matter as it is emitted from the diesel engine. The air and water quality on and around the vessel is vastly improved, offering a clean, enjoyable environment for everyone on board. When equipped with DECS, exhaust gas is routed through a catalytically coated ceramic filter, trapping soot and particulates.
