Solstad, Siem, Standard Supply Score Offshore Vessel Contracts

Norwegian offshore vessel owners Solstad Offshore, Siem Offshore, and Standard Supply have all secured offshore vessel contracts in the past few days.Solstad Offshore on Monday said it had secured a contract for the platform supply vessel Normand Swan in Australia. Solstad Offshore said the contract was for two years and with "a major energy company."The client will have additional extension options. The contract will start in September 2022. No financial details were shared.The Normand Swan is an 89-meter-long vessel built to Ulstein's PX 105 design back in 2014.

Siem Offshore Loses Late Vessel Delivery Court Case Against Petrobras

Norwegian offshore support vessel owner Siem Offshore said Monday a Brazilian court had ruled in favor of Petrobras in a case related to a late vessel delivery in 2015."Siem Offshore do Brasil has been notified of the final unfavorable decision of a Brazilian court in a lawsuit filed against Petrobras. The case is related to late delivery of the vessel Siem Maragogi from yard back in 2015," the company said."A late delivery penalty charge was imposed by Petrobras on Siem Offshore do Brasil. The penalty charge has been accrued for in previous years’ accounts and will not have any impact on the Profit and Loss account for 2022. Brazil Blocks Costa Cruise Crew from Coming Ashore Due to Coronavirus

A Brazilian court has barred crew members from disembarking from the Costa Fascinosa cruise ship anchored with no passengers at the port of Santos after some of their mates developed coronavirus symptoms, city authorities said on Monday.All passengers on the ship, which has a capacity for 3,800 passengers and crew, were disembarked on March 17 at Santos and only the crew remained in quarantined.Santos is Latin America's largest port and where most of Brazil's agriculture commodities are exported.Last week…

Shipbuilder OSX Brasil Restructuring Plan Suspended by Court

Reuters –  A Brazilian court has suspended the deadline for shipbuilder OSX Brasil SA to present its restructuring plan under bankruptcy legislation until a new judge is appointed to the case, the company said in a statement. The 60-day deadline to file the plan was already suspended in January while another court reviewed a challenge to OSX's Nov. 11, 2013, bankruptcy protection filing. The new deadline will be set once the case is formally transferred to a new judge. Spanish construction company Acciona asked a court to prevent OSX's bankruptcy from being handled by the same judge responsible for the bankruptcy of sister oil company Oleo e Gas Participações SA. Oleo e Gas, formerly known as OGX, filed Latin America's largest ever bankruptcy on Oct. 30.
