VIDEO: Liebherr Debuts Lift Height Extension of STS in Australia

Liebherr Container Cranes completed its first ship to shore lift height increase with their new patented jacking system as part of Liebherr Transform. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Liebherr engineers at Patrick Terminals – Brisbane Autostrad.Patrick Terminals – Brisbane Autostrad located on the eastern coast of Australia is one of the world’s most advanced container terminals. Liebherr have two ship to shore container cranes at the terminal, a new STS currently being commissioned and an STS supplied in 2015.

Aus Terminal Selects Kalmar Straddle Carriers

The cargo-handling solutions provider Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to supply a total of 12 diesel-electric straddle carriers to leading Australian terminal operator Patrick Terminals.The order, which comprises eight automated Kalmar AutoStrad(TM) units and four manually operated Kalmar Straddle Carriers, was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake. Delivery of the machines is scheduled to be completed during Q2 of 2020.Patrick Terminals is Australia's leading container terminal operator, handling over three million TEU annually. Port Botany Workers Sacked via Text Message

Infuriated workers have formed picket line at Hutchison Ports in Botany, NSW after 97 employees from Sydney and Brisbane were sacked by email. Hutchison Ports Australia operates as Brisbane Container Terminals in Queensland. Brisbane port workers woke Friday morning to discover they had been sacked overnight, with Hutchison Ports Australia alerting them to the news via text message. The sent out a message to more than 40 workers just before midnight, stating the worker had been sacked and there would be "no redeployment opportunities". "You are not required for your allocated shift, please disregard your most recent work orders, you are not required on shift until further notice," the text message sent to 41 Brisbane workers said.

NAVIS TOS Connects at DP World Brisbane

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, supported the grand opening of the DP World Brisbane container terminal as its Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS) went 'Live'. Kalmar Straddle Carrier Number 5,000 Rolls Out

The 5,000th Kalmar straddle carrier rolls out of the assembly unit in Stargard Szczecinski, Poland, part of an early 2014 delivery of 44 electric carriers for Asciano's Patrick Port Botany terminal in Sydney, Australia. "We are extremely proud to receive the 5,000th Kalmar straddle carrier in Sydney. The first automated Kalmar straddle carriers were used in commercial operations in 2005 in our Brisbane terminal. This fully automated container handling system was the first of its kind in the world and we are now building a similar system in our Sydney terminal.

Cargotec Gets Major Order from DPWorld Brisbane

Cargotec receives an order to deliver 14 Kalmar automatic stackingcranes & 14 Kalmar one-over-one shuttle carriers to DP World Brisbane Pty. The equipment will be taken into use at the Port of Brisbane. DP World Brisbane will also be using Navis Sparcs N4 TOS in their Brisbane terminal expansion. Deliveries of the equipment are scheduled for 2013 and early 2014. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value. Two Incat Ferries Launched

Incat Designs - Sydney announced the launches of two new ferries. The 43m Seastreak Highlands was launched at Gladding Hearn's Massachusetts (USA) yard in late February. This was followed by the launch of 58m RoPax Ferry MiCAT (pictured) by Cairns boatbuilder NQEA Australia one week later. Seastreak Highlands is the 165th Incat Designs - Sydney vessel to be constructed, and will join sister ships Seastreak New Jersey, Seastreak Wall Street and Seastreak New York on the run from Downtown New York to Atlantic Highlands.
