Diana Shipping Wins TC Contract from Ausca

Diana Shipping , a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Ausca Shipping Limited, Hong Kong, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Dione. The gross charter rate is US$10,350 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum 14 months to about 17 months. The charter is expected to commence on January 23, 2018.

Diana Shipping Enters into TC Contract with Uniper

Diana Shipping has announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Uniper Global Commodities SE, Düsseldorf, for one of its Post-Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Phaidra. The gross charter rate is US$12,700 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum 12 months to maximum 15 months. The charter commenced on January 13, 2018. The m/v Phaidra was previously chartered to Jera Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Milaha Acquires its Largest Containership

Qatar-based maritime and logistics conglomerate Milaha said it has acquired its largest container vessel to date, Majd, a 3,768 TEU vessel. Majd was built by STX Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in South Korea, and has a length overall of 246.87 meters and a deadweight of 44,985 metric tons. The new vessel will be one of the 17 container vessels that the group operates, and is part of the ongoing expansion of the group’s overall fleet. Milaha currently fully owns and operates a fleet of over 80 vessels…

Eagle Bulk Shipping Adds New Ultramax

U.S. based owner of Handymax dry bulk vessels Eagle Bulk Shipping has announced that it has taken delivery of its newly acquired vessel, the M/V New London Eagle, a 2015-built CROWN-63 Ultramax. The acquisition has been funded by cash on-hand and new debt of USD 8.6 million. This loan, which equates to approximately 40% of the purchase price, represents an upsize to the existing Eagle Bulk Ultraco LLC Debt Facility which carries an interest rate of LIBOR plus 2.95% and has a maturity of October 31, 2022.

Bahri Dry Bulk Secures Newbuild Finance

Bahri Dry Bulk, a business unit of global transportation and logistics leader Bahri, has announced that it has secured a Sharia-compliant funding of SAR 360 million (USD 96mln) from Bank Albilad, one of the fast-growing banks in Saudi Arabia. The fund is to finance the purchase of four new bulk carriers as part of an agreement signed by the company‎ in 2017 with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), a member of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group, the world’s largest shipbuilding company based in South Korea.

Diana Shipping Acquires Capesize Bulker

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, has announced that yesterday it signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to acquire from an unaffiliated third party the m/v Churchill Bulker, a 2011 built Capesize dry bulk vessel of 179,362 dwt, for a purchase price of $28.5 million. The vessel, to be renamed Seattle, is expected to be delivered to the buyer by mid-November 2015. Excluding the newly acquired vessel, as well as one new-building Capesize dry bulk vessel expected to be delivered to the Company by mid-November 2015, one new-building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel expected to be delivered to the Company during the second quarter of 2016…

Diana Shipping Signs Loan Facility with Danish Ship Finance

Diana Shipping Inc. a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that it has completed a drawdown of US$30 million, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, under a term loan facility it signed with Danish Ship Finance A/S. The proceeds will be used to partially finance the acquisition cost of a Capesize dry bulk vessel, the m/v Santa Barbara, which was delivered to the Company on January 12, 2015. Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 40 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 12 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 3 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax). The Company also expects to take delivery of one Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel during the second quarter of 2015…

Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Hong Kong - based China Shipping Bulk Carrier, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Calipso. The "Calipso" is a 73,691 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2005. The gross charter rate is US$6,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum ten (10) months to maximum fourteen (14) months. Diana Shipping Inc.'s fleet currently consists of 41 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 12 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 4 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax).

SwissMarine Hires Diana's Capesize Bulker

Diana Shipping Inc. today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the m/v Aliki. The gross charter rate is US$5,300 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum eleven (11) months to maximum fourteen (14) months. The charter is expected to commence tomorrow. The “Aliki” is a 180,235 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel built in 2005.

Diana Finds Work for Panamax Duo

Diana Shipping Inc., today informed that through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with Cargill International S.A., Geneva, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Naias. The gross charter rate is US$6,800 per day minus a 4.75% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum ten (10) months to maximum thirteen (13) months. The charter commenced yesterday. The “Naias” is a 73,546 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2006.

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX), (the “Company”), a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with Narina Maritime Ltd, fully guaranteed by Cerrahgil Denizcilik Nakliyat ve Tic. A.S., for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Coronis. The gross charter rate is US$4,750 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum eleven (11) months to maximum fourteen (14) months. The charter is expected to commence on March 19, 2016.

Diana Shipping Inc. a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it agreed to extend the present time charter contract with RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, Essen, Germany, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the m/v Santa Barbara, for a period of minimum twelve (12) months to maximum fifteen (15) months. The gross charter rate is US$7,500 per day minus a 5% commission paid to third parties. The new charter period is expected to commence on December 18, 2015.

Diana Acquires Newbuild Dry Bulk Vessel

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to acquire from an unaffiliated third party seller, a newbuilding Capesize dry bulk vessel of approximately 180,000 dwt, for a purchase price of $50 million. The vessel (Hull No. BC18.0-51), built by Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Qingdao, China, is expected to be delivered to the company by mid-January 2015. Excluding the newly acquired vessel, as well as two newbuilding Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels and one new-building Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel expected to be delivered to the company during the second quarter of 2016…

Diana Shipping Orders Dry Bulk Vessel for 2016

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, signed, through a separate wholly owned subsidiary, a shipbuilding contract with Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Sinopacific International Trade Co., Ltd., for the construction of a Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel of approximately 82,000 dwt for a contract price of $28,824,900.The company expects to take delivery of the vessel during the second quarter of 2016. Diana Shipping Announced Vessel Delivery, Time Charters

Diana Shipping Inc. Diana Shipping Inc. announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has taken delivery of the m/v Santa Barbara (formerly Hull No. BC18.0-51), a 179,426 dwt newly built Capesize dry bulk vessel that the company entered into an agreement to purchase in December 2014. The company also announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Vroon Dry Cargo Chartering B.V., Breskens, for one of its Post-Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Polymnia. The gross charter rate is $7,500 per day, plus $237,500 ballast bonus, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum nine months to maximum 13 months. The charter is expected to commence January 17, 2015.

Diana Shipping has  chartered the 73,630 dwt, 2004-built panamax, Protefs to Transgrain shipping for 12 – 16 months at a rate of $4,500 per day minus 5% commission. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$1.55 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter. Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 43 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 14 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 4 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax). The gross charter rate is US$7,600 per day minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum eight (8) months to maximum eleven (11) months. The charter commenced on August 22, 2015. The “Alcyon” is a 75,247 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2001.

Diana Shipping Inc. specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has agreed to extend the present time charter contract with Cargill International S.A., Geneva, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Leto, for a period of about fifteen (15) months to about eigtheen (18) months. Diana Shipping Inc. today announced that through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, for one of its Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Los Angeles. The gross charter rate is US$7,750 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of about twelve (12) months to about fifteen (15) months. The charter commenced today. The “Los Angeles” is a 206,104 dwt Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel built in 2012.

Diana Shipping announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has taken delivery of the m/v Phaidra (formerly “Soya May”), a 2013 built Post-Panamax dry bulk vessel of 87,146 dwt that the Company entered into an agreement to purchase in April 2017. The Company also announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Koch Shipping Pte. Diana Shipping announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Koch Shipping Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the m/v New York. The gross charter rate is US$14,450 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of about six (6) months up to December 29, 2017. The charter commenced on April 23, 2017. The “New York” is a 177,773 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel built in 2010.

Danish Shipping Firm Sells Tankers

A/S Dampskibsselskabet Torm, a Danish shipping company, is selling three of its tankers for a total of $63m. The move is part of Torm's strategy of selling older bulk vessels so it can build its fleet of bigger Panamax bulk vessels. Torm did not disclose who is buying the three older vessels. Following delivery of the three vessels, TORM's owned fleet will consist of 30 product tankers and five dry bulk vessels. Besides its owned fleet, the company operates nearly 100 ships.
