MOL to Open New Business units
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Juinchiro Ikeda) today announced plans to establish two new business units — the Dry Bulk Business Unit and the Energy Transport Business Unit and restructure its dry bulk business divisions — effective April 1, 2016. The restructuring will not affect the company’s disclosure of financial results by segment. 1. MOL will restructure the dry bulk business divisions and establish the Dry Bulker Business Unit to most effectively implement business structural reforms to optimize the fleet portfolio and make more efficient use of management resources.
Eni Reorganizes Gas and Power Segment
Following the reorganization of Eni’s Gas and Power activities, approved by the Company's Board of Directors, the Business Unit Optimization and Trading will be renamed Business Unit Midstream and a new Business Unit Downstream Gas and Power has been created. The Business Unit Downstream Gas and Power, of which Eni’s Chief Executive Officer, Paolo Scaroni, has been appointed interim head, will be responsible for the development in Italy and abroad of commercial retail and mid gas & power as well as the generation of electricity power. The Business Unit Midstream, headed by Marco Alverà, will oversee commodity trading activities, supply and oil & gas portfolio optimization, sales on wholesale gas and power markets, midstream LNG commercial activities and commodities transport.
Bahri Dry Bulk Secures Newbuild Finance
Bahri Dry Bulk, a business unit of global transportation and logistics leader Bahri, has announced that it has secured a Sharia-compliant funding of SAR 360 million (USD 96mln) from Bank Albilad, one of the fast-growing banks in Saudi Arabia. The fund is to finance the purchase of four new bulk carriers as part of an agreement signed by the company in 2017 with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), a member of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group, the world’s largest shipbuilding company based in South Korea.

MAN Diesel to Feature High-Speed Engines
MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will transfer part of its business involving high-speed engines to the group’s sister company, MAN Diesel. With effect from 1 January 2010, these activities will be integrated into MAN Diesel to form a Business Unit High Speed. The new Business Unit will offer diesel and gas engines in a performance range from 70 to 1,400 kW used in yachts, smaller working ships, locomotives and in decentralised energy supplies, for instance as emergency gensets. Palumbo Buys Mondomarine
Italian yard Palumbo Group has acquired the former Mondomarine facility in Savona on an initial six-month lease, reports local media. "By leasing the business unit of the Savona shipyard, Palumbo Group will grant the restart of the shipyard's activities, along with the immediate reinstatement of nine employees." Palumbo Group explained in a statement. The deal saves 9 jobs from the Italian shipyard that went into liquidation towards the end of 2017, which put a total of 57 jobs at risk.

Litton Marine Creates Machine Automation Unit
Litton Marine Systems has established a new strategic business unit for machine automation, as announced per Dr. Clark Graham, the company's president. In addition, Patrick T. Enright, Jr. was named director and Stewart Allington was elected director of the new strategic business unit. Prior to joining Litton, Enright was head of the automation department at Newport News Shipbuilding, while Allington, who joined Decca in 1994, will assume responsibility for worldwide sales and marketing of Litton's marine machinery automation systems.
Crowley Promotes Dugan To Manager Oil Transportation
Chris Dugan has been promoted to manager, Oil Transportation for Crowley Marine Services in Seattle. Dugan began his career with Crowley in early 1997 as manager of Customer Service in Long Beach, Calif., in the company's Harbor Services business unit. He was later promoted to the position of sales manager in the Bulk Petroleum business unit in Seattle. Dugan holds a bachelors degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

ZF Acquires Bosch Rexroth Industrial Gears Arm
Following the go-ahead from antitrust authorities, on December 1, 2015 ZF has officially taken over the industrial gears and wind turbine gearbox business from Bosch Rexroth AG. With this, some 1,200 employees altogether at the Witten, Beijing and Lake Zurich (USA) locations will thus join the technology company. The purchase price has not been disclosed. For ZF, the acquisition is an entry into the business with large industrial gears that are used in oil rigs, mine vehicles, tunnel drilling machines, or cableways, for instance.
Crowley's New VPs Evans & Otero
Crowley announced the promotion of Eric Evans and Tony Otero each to the role of vice president, finance & planning, supporting several different business groups. In his new position Eric Evans will support Crowley's technical services, petroleum services, Alaska petroleum distribution and marine contract services business groups. Maritime Communication Partner (MCP), a global provider of onboard communications solutions, has announced the recruitment of two highly experienced senior executives to lead its dedicated Offshore and Cruise and Ferry Business Units. Tom Lowehr, until recently the Head of Program Management at Astrium Business Communication, has joined as Senior Vice President (SVP) of the newly launched Offshore business unit, while Lars Munkso, formerly of US stock-listed energy services group Cameron, becomes SVP of the Cruise and Ferry business unit.
Crowley Shipping Announces Management Team
Crowley Maritime Corp. appointed four industry veterans to oversee the consolidated lines of business under the recently formed Crowley Shipping group, which provides petroleum and chemical transportation, commercial ship management, offshore energy support and ship assist and tanker escort services in the U.S. and international markets. Yara International ASA has appointed Terje Knutsen as Head of Downstream. He succeeds Egil Hogna, who has submitted his resignation. Knutsen will assume his new position on 1 May 2015. Yara's Downstream business unit manages the company's global sales, marketing and distribution of fertilizers. Terje Knutsen currently heads Yara's business unit for Downstream activities in North & East Europe. Prior to this, he was Head of Business Unit Asia. Aged 52, Knutsen holds a Master's degree in economics and business administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Aker decided to change the set-up of the two business and Products & Technologies to reinforce its deepwater position. The changes involve an integration of Aker Marine Contractors and our Well Service and Geo business units into the Subsea business area. In combination with our ownership and cooperation with Aker Oilfield Services, the new structure will also leverage Aker’swell intervention services offering. MAN B&W Diesel’s Danish Four-stroke unit Restructures
MAN B&W Diesel A/S has decided to restructure its activities in the company’s Four-stroke business unit. Rationalization is necessary to keep the competitive edge and the structural change will entail a gradual concentration of the Danish Four-stroke engine production in Frederikshavn and, at the same time, a phasing out of production in Holeby. The Holeby division will continue as a center of GenSet competence, with approximately 90 employees. The functions will include sales & marketing, engineering and customer support. The Frederikshavn division has a broad business base, including Four-stroke engines for propulsion of small ships and complete propulsion plants with gear and propellers. In the future, GenSets production will complement existing activities.
Nickless VP Crowley Finance & Planning, Shipping & Logistics
Crowley Maritime Corporation announced that David Nickless has been promoted to vice president of finance and planning for Crowley's shipping and logistics business line.
