BW Fleet Management Selects MarineLink

Oslo based BW Fleet Management have chosen to sign a 3 year “BuyerLink” Service contract with EVRY, to use the MarineLink Service and run in parallel with their other eCommence providers who integrates directly with their Oracle EBS Purchasing application. BW Fleet Management has used the MarineLink service for many years for transactions with Wilhelmsen Ships Service, Alfa Laval and engine manufacturer Wärtsilä. However, this year they decided to split their eCommerce between two service providers, MarineLink from EVRY, being one of the winning suppliers. Head of Global Purchasing at BW, Tor-Egil Gjulem says,  "We have used the MarineLink service for many years, along with ShipServ.

Radio Holland, BWFM Ink Service Agreement

Radio Holland, part of Imtech Marine, has won a service agreement with tanker, gas and offshore maritime group BW Fleet Management (BWFM). The two-year agreement covers all the navigation and communication equipment onboard 13 LPG vessels. Radio Holland also provides remote support for these vessels. BWFM has technical responsibility for more than 50 vessels including Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), Long Range 1 product tankers (LR 1s), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers.

Radio Holland Inks Service Deal with BW Fleet Management

Radio Holland, part of Imtech Marine, has concluded a service agreement with leading tanker, gas and offshore maritime group BW Fleet Management (BWFM). The two-year agreement covers all the navigation and communication equipment onboard 13 LPG vessels. Radio Holland also provides remote support for these vessels. This week Radio Holland is present at the Nor-Shipping event in Oslo (Norway) at booth B02-36. BWFM has technical responsibility for more than 50 vessels including Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), Long Range 1 product tankers (LR 1s), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers. Imtech Marine’s Radio Holland brand and personnel, known for their navigation/communication expertise, provide 24/7 worldwide service and support.

Low Sulphur Fuels Cause Pump Deterioration

Due to new regulations, the shipping community is faced with new challenges on a large scale, especially those ships that operate both inside and outside environmental zones and switching over from one fuel to another. For a long time the traditional approach to operation on heavy fuel oils (HFO) has been “pier-to-pier”. This is all going to change, said Allweiler, a world-leading provider of marine pumps to the shipping industry. When global ship operator BW Gas overhauled a low-performing fuel service pump, it discovered high wear on pump elements. BW Gas concludes that a contributing factor to the increased wear rate on the pump can be the 0.1% Sulphur marine gas oil used in EU ports, however it is also clear that other factors play a significant role.

CIMAC Circle at Marintec Shanghai

CIMAC, the International Council for Combustion Engines took advantage of this year’ s major trade show in the large engine sector to stage the latest in its CIMAC Circle series of forums for information exchange. Chaired by CIMAC board member Yasuhiro Itoh, Managing Director, Niigata Power Systems Co., Ltd., the Circle was entitled “Life-Cycle Costs - the Impact of Fuel and Emissions,” and with contributions from a full spectrum of stakeholders gave a timely and comprehensive snapshot of present and predicted costs of engine ownership in the light of tightening marine emissions legislation. Especially significant, the CIMAC Circle took place for the third time in China.

BW Fleet Management Repair Deal at ASRY

Tanker operator, BW Fleet Management, expanded its Fleet Repair Agreement with ASRY’s Bahrain yard. The new repair agreement was signed by Morten Steen Martinsen, managing director of BW Fleet Management and Chris Potter, CEO of ASRY, in April in Bahrain. The Norwegian company, which operates out of both Oslo and Singapore, manages a fleet of more than 90 vessels operated by BW Gas and BW Maritime, and the ASRY repair agreement involves those crude oil tankers, product tankers and LPG carriers that trade to the Arabian Gulf, giving guaranteed dock space and fixed rates.
