Hvid to Take Over as Teekay President and CEO
Teekay Corporation’s board of directors has elected Kenneth Hvid to succeed current president and CEO, Peter Evensen, who will retire January 31, 2017 after more than 13 years with the company. Hvid is presently serving as president and CEO of Teekay Offshore Group Ltd. “Kenneth Hvid is the natural successor to Peter Evensen as CEO of Teekay at this time,” said Teekay's Chairman, Sean Day. Teekay LNG Announces Board Changes
Teekay LNG Partners L.P. announced changes to Teekay LNG’s board of directors. Jane Hinkley has been appointed to the chairmanship position succeeding C. Sean Day, who will remain a director of Teekay LNG and chairman of the partnership’s sponsor, Teekay Corporation. Teekay LNG Partners L.P. announced that Beverlee F. Park has accepted an invitation to join Teekay LNG's Board of Directors and to Chair its Audit Committee, effective March 11, 2014. Torben G. Jensen, Chairman & CEO of The Clipper Group, has been named this week as the Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) Commodore for the year 2006. Jensen follows a succession of maritime industry leaders as Commodore. The Award will be presented to Mr. Jensen on March 22. The Award is given each year to a person in the international maritime industry who has contributed to the growth and development of the industry. Jensen who is currently the Chairman & CEO of The Clipper Group has had a distinguished career in the maritime industry, with over 45 years experience. Jensen started his career in shipping in 1959 as a trainee in his native country of Denmark. In 1972 he and an ex-colleague set-up Armada Shipping Aps., Denmark.
Teekay Shipping Chairman Steps Down
Teekey Shipping Corp. said its chairman, Axel Karlshoej, will resign from the board because of work demands at his company, Nordic Industries. Karlshoej will be replaced by C. Sean Day, a member of the board and consultant to the trust group that holds about 45 percent of Teekay’s shares. Teekay also said it expanded the board to nine members from eight, appointing Leif O. Hoegh to the ninth position in conjunction with Teekay’s acquisition of Bona Shipholding Ltd.
