Box-Weighing Changes 'Impossible' for Shippers

Global Consolidators Working Group(GCWG) has urged the International Maritime Organization (IMO), an arm of the United Nations that regulates shipping safety,  to provide more detail about the much-debated container verification rules, set to be introduced by July 1, according to a report in WSJ. Consolidators say an impending rule demanding certified weights for shipping containers leaves their business boxed out. The Global Consolidators Working Group called for more clarification, both on how the rule will be policed and how each of 170 or so countries will enforce it. The letter, signed by executives from CaroTrans International Inc., Shipco Transport Inc.

NVOCCs Form US-South-Africa Partnership

CaroTrans Enhances India-US Network

CaroTrans, a global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator, announced a new, direct less-than container load (LCL) import service from Nhava Sheva, India to Charleston, South Carolina for expedited delivery to the U.S. South Atlantic and Gulf regions. This weekly, all-water service has a 25 day transit and offers a convenient Friday cut-off date, important service features for time-sensitive garment and fabric imports. The service began mid-August. CaroTrans Launches US-Japan LCL Export Service

Global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans announced a new weekly less than container load (LCL) service from Atlanta to major markets in Japan including: Tokyo, Yokohama, Kobe, Nagoya and Osaka. This service eliminates transshipment and double handling in Los Angeles and Busan. Freight moves from Atlanta to Tokyo in 29 days, Yokohama in 30 days, and Osaka, Nagoya and Kobe in 33 days. In Japan, CaroTrans’ partner of 16 years, Seino Logix, provides secure unpack and expedited distribution throughout Japan. Overall, the CaroTrans - Seino Logix service portfolio is comprised of six export services – Chicago, Charleston, New York/New Jersey, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle to Japan, and now Atlanta.

CaroTrans Adds Direct Montreal-Le Havre Service

Global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans today announced a new weekly less than container load (LCL) service from Montreal to Le Havre, France. This direct service has a 14 day transit. Freight can originate from as far west as Vancouver with handling provided by multiple container freight stations throughout Canada. The region in and around Montreal, the Quebec province, is a French speaking region with close, historical ties to France, and in turn robust trade, CaroTrans explained. Freight management at origin and destination is supported by a team including Odyssey, a CaroTrans partner in Canada, and CaroTrans’ Le Havre office. CaroTrans in Le Havre is positioned to expedite cargo release and on-carriage services.

Direct Le Havre to Charleston LCL Import Service

CaroTrans has announced the addition of an expedited Le Havre, France to Charleston LCL import service. This is the only direct, weekly Le Havre to Charleston LCL service available in the market. It is a 12 day transit to Charleston and a maximum of 3 additional days to destinations in the U.S. South Atlantic region. The Le Havre departure point eliminates the congestion, delays and additional handling associated with routing via Antwerp. Charleston is CaroTrans’ third direct LCL import service from Le Havre. Services to Houston and New York are also offered.

CaroTrans Adds New Asia-US Service

CaroTrans Adopts CargoSmart’s Solutions

CaroTrans, MOLAX LINE Partner for U.S.-Northern Asia Service

CaroTrans Bolsters Service with New Philippines Partnership

(MFCSI), a NVOCC in the Philippines market committed to responsive, flexible transportation services.
