Royal IHC Completes Kargest TSHD in China

After 19 months of building, trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) JUN YANG 1 left Kinderdijk on 15 August 2016. A ceremony to celebrate the on-time completion was held before the vessel set off for Guangzhou, China where she will be handed over to CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Company (GDC). JUN YANG 1, which has a hopper capacity of 21,393m3, is expected to arrive at her homeport at the end of September 2016. “IHC is proud to have completed this flagship for our customer,” said Alexander van Noort, COO IHC. IHC Merwede says it has been successful in securing orders worth € 350 million for a wide range of dredging and offshore vessels and equipment, including a large trailing suction dredger for a Chinese customer. The company's Dredging division has confirmed new contracts for the delivery of a large custom-built trailing suction hopper dredger, with units that will be supplied by IHC Beaver Dredgers as well as a cutter suction dredger training simulator. IHC Merwede Wins Dredging and Offshore Orders

IHC Merwede has secured orders worth €350 million for a wide range of dredging and offshore vessels and equipment. The company’s Dredging division has confirmed new contracts for the delivery of a large custom-built trailing suction hopper dredger, 13 units that will be supplied by IHC Beaver Dredgers and a cutter suction dredger training simulator. The Offshore division has also announced orders for the construction of a 300-metric-ton pipelaying vessel, as well as a J-Lay pipelaying system and a tandem mooring system.
