Singapore-based shipbuilder Strategic Marine announced it has commissioned a study to validate greenhouse gas emissions reduction using the Sea Forrest Green Cabin Energy Saving System, its latest system in collaboration with Sea Forrest.Sea Forrest delivers energy management solutions through marine electric and hybrid propulsion, marine charging and marine energy storage systems. Equinor Opens New York Offshore Wind Project Office

Norwegian energy firm Equinor on Tuesday announced the opening of the New York offshore wind project office, located in Sunset Park’s Industry City neighborhood near the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal.The project office will serve as the hub for Equinor and BP's large-scale offshore wind operations in the region, including Empire Wind and Beacon Wind. Cambodia Seeks Return of Ship Carrying Country's First Oil Output

The Cambodian government is seeking the return of an oil tanker and its crew who have been detained in Indonesia, alleging that the ship had loaded oil illegally from an offshore oil field, a government official said on Thursday.The Bahamas-flagged tanker MT Strovolos and its crew were detained in waters near the Anambas islands of Indonesia on July 27, the Indonesian Navy said in a statement.The vessel is carrying Cambodia's first-ever oil production from an offshore oil field which began operation in December 2020. However, the cargo has been stuck onboard the tanker since May as the project developer KrisEnergy entered liquidation in June after being unable to pay debts."I am worried," Cambodia's Ministry of Mines and Energy spokesman Cheap Suor said.

Singapore-based Strategic Marine delivered a pair of 27m CTVs to WEM Marine Ltd, a UK-based offshore support vessel provider with a growing fleet servicing the renewable offshore wind energy sector. KR Completes Hull Survey Using Aerial and Crawler Drones

The Korean Register (KR) said it has completed its first hull inspection survey using both aerial and crawler drones for the intermediate survey of bulk carrier Pan Global.The survey, which was completed Tuesday with the assistance of POSSM Co, Korea’s largest ship management company, and HST Technology, who provided the remote inspection technology.KR’s surveyors have been using remote inspection technology such as drones for surveys since 2017.
