Chemoil CEO Dies in Helicopter Crash

The Board of Directors of Chemoil Energy announced that the company’s CEO and Executive Chairman, Robert V Chandran passed away January 7, 2008 from injuries sustained when a helicopter he was traveling in crashed in the Riau Province of Indonesia. In the aircraft with Chandran was Terence Gidlow, Chemoil’s Vice President of Business Development, who was injured but is in stable condition. Chandran built Chemoil Energy into one of the world’s leading independent suppliers of marine fuels since he founded the company in 1981.

Chemoil Files Suit Against STUSCO

Chemoil Corporation announced today that it has filed suit against Shell Trading US Co. (STUSCO) in the Federal Courts of the Southern District of Texas in connection with certain acidic products, which STUSCO supplied to Chemoil during 2003. In this suit, Chemoil is seeking indemnity from STUSCO, as well as damages for breach of contract and other causes of action. This action is directly related to a series of TAN (Total Acid Number) bunker claims received by Chemoil in New Orleans during April of 2003, which were the subject of a previous Chemoil News release (Acid Fuel/US Gulf Coast, June 26, 2003).

Chemoil Enters Sri Lankan Bunker Market

Chemoil Corporation has commenced supplying bunkers in Sri Lanka. Local deliveries will be made by Lanka Bunkering Services Ltd. (LBS), a joint venture between Chemoil and local company, Sri Lanka Shipping Company (SLSC). SLSC is a well known shipping company in Sri Lanka who until recently sold bunkers using its subsidiary Lanka Maritime Services (LMS). Chemoil will join forces with SLSC, using its international network of customers and global experience in combination with SLSC's well established local knowledge. Chemoil's expansion into Sri Lanka recognizes the company's commitment to the region and its belief in the potential for growth in the Sri Lankan bunker market. Main delivery port in Sri Lanka will be the port of Colombo, including Colombo anchorage and OPL Colombo.

Chemoil joins OceanConnect

OceanConnect has attracted the largest independent fuel supplier as a new equity partner. OceanConnect President Thomas Reilly announced that Chemoil Corporation has acquired an equity stake and is using OceanConnect as its exclusive online system for buying and selling fuels. MarineProvider Takes Equity in OceanConnect

OceanConnect announced that it has attracted MarineProvider ASA as another new equity partner. The news comes shortly after announcements that Chemoil Corporation and DS Norden AS have acquired equity in OceanConnect, and OceanConnect's acquisition of the Clarksons Bunker Group. Chemoil Consolidates U.S. Ops

Chemoil Corporation has announced the planned consolidation of its US offices. Chemoil's Houston office, which opened in 1986, will be closed in July of 2002. Chemoil to Supply Bunkers in Panama Canal

Chemoil to Re-enter Philadelphia Bunker Market
