Chevron Tanker Receives ABS SMART-MHM Notation
ABS and Chevron Shipping Company LLC have embarked on a digital fleet management journey.As a first step, the Suezmax lightering vessel Pegasus Voyager has become the first vessel in Chevron’s fleet to qualify for the ABS maintenance optimization notation SMART-MHM (Machinery Health Monitoring), with more vessels expected to follow. The ship is also the first ABS-classed to receive the notation.ABS says this is just the beginning of the journey to condition-based maintenance for the Chevron’s fleet of 28 vessels.
Shipping Companies Recognized for Efforts to Save Whales

C-MAP Wins Chevron Shipping Contract
Following a competitive tender, Chevron Shipping Company LLC (CSC) has selected smart shipping solutions from C-MAP, a provider of commercial marine charting and cloud-based software solutions for fleet management and route optimization.CSC will deploy C-MAP’s onboard platform that employs advanced algorithms and customized ship performance models to deliver voyage optimization. Chevron Renews GAC Contract
Gulf Agency Company Ltd. (GAC), a global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services, announced the contract renewal with Chevron Shipping Company LLC (CSC), the fleet subsidiary of Chevron Corporation. Under the continuing arrangement, GAC remains CSC’s sole provider of tanker agency services worldwide. The new contract was signed by GAC Group Executive Chairman Björn Engblom and CSC Vice-President & General Manager Marine Transportation Alexander Walker at CSC’s headquarters in San Ramon, California on 1 June 2006. CSC has a long-standing relationship with GAC, going back to the early 1970s when GAC was a growing force in ship agency services in the Middle East.
