Hy2gen and Amogy Partner to Propel Ammonia as a Marine Fuel

Norwegian Shipowner Preorders Amogy's Ammonia Power Solution

Brooklyn, N.Y. based Amogy announced it has entered into a preorder contract to supply four of its 200-kilowatt (kW) ammonia-to-power systems to an undisclosed Norwegian shipping company.The Amogy powerpacks will provide the primary power on a newbuild vessel slated for zero emissions sailing in 2025. The preorder is Amogy's first with a maritime industry customer ahead of planned commercialization in 2024.“We are very proud that this prominent shipowner believes in our technology and sees it as the most viable solution for decarbonizing their newbuild vessel,” said Christian W.

GC Rieber Shipping CEO Christian Wilhelm Berg Resigns

Norwegian shipping company GC Rieber Shipping said that Christian Wilhelm Berg resigned the position as CEO with effect from 14 September 2018 in order to pursue other opportunities through his wholly owned company, Bech Offshore.Bech Offshore was set up in 2017 with the concept to initiate investment opportunities related to distressed assets within the Offshore Support Segment. Further, the company offered third party owners Commercial Management, Consultancy Services and in-depth market know-how.The activities of Bech Offshore was acquired by and integrated into GC Rieber Shipping when Christian Wilhelm Berg commenced as CEO, but will now be sold back to Bech Offshore.The Board of GC Rieber Shipping will initiate a process to recruit a new permanent CEO.

GC Rieber Shipping Secures Contract for Polar Queen

Norwegian shipping company GC Rieber Shipping has entered into a time charter agreement with a European offshore client for the CSV vessel Polar Queen for a fixed period of four months with options to extend by up to one month. With this charter, all GC Rieber Shipping subsea vessels have secured contracts for the summer season 2018. The Polar Queen will be used in British sector to perform walk-to-work duties and commencement will be in May 2018. "We are pleased to see Polar Queen build on her success in the walk-to-work market and secure a new substantial charter with a Tier 1 client. With this charter, GC Rieber Shipping is sold out for the summer of 2018.

GC Rieber Bags 3 Year TC for Polar Onyx

Norwegian offshore shipowner  GC Rieber Shipping has entered into a time charter agreement with Deepocean BV for the SURF vessel Polar Onyx for a fixed period of three years with options to extend by up to two years. The Polar Onyx will be used in Ghana to support Deepocean's contract with Tullow Oil. Commencement is immediately and mobilization has begun. "We are very pleased to have secured a long-term charter agreement with Deepocean where we maintain a position to benefit from improving market conditions. The Polar Onyx proves yet again its market attractiveness being selected for the first long term subsea charter in a while. We look forward to servicing Tullow Oil in close cooperation with our client Deepocean", said GC Rieber Shipping CEO, Christian W. Berg.

Berg appointed CEO of Viking Supply Ships

The Board of Viking Supply Ships AB (under name change from Rederi AB Transatlantic) has decided to appoint Christian W. Berg as CEO of the company with immediate effect. Christian will in parallel continue as head of the Viking Supply Ships business area just as today. Christian W. Berg is born 1968 and has since 2011 been head of the business area Viking Supply Ships, coming previously from Chief Commercial Officer in Siem Offshore (2008-2011) which is a company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. From 1999 to 2008, Christian has had various leading positions at several companies, such as Promarine Ltd and Promarine AS, NavTech AS in Egersund and Horizon Mobile Communications in Singapore. Christian has had various board engagements within the scope of his employments.
