SMM 2024 Exhibition Halls Already Nearly Fully Booked

The SMM 2024 trade show will run from September 3-6 this year, and organizers are expecting more visitors and exhibitors than last time; the exhibition halls are nearly fully booked.“We are expecting more than 2,000 international exhibitors from 70 nations,” says Claus Ulrich Selbach, Business Unit Director Maritime and Technology Fairs & Exhibitions at Hamburg Messe und Congress. “We are overwhelmed by the response. DNV Presents AIP for NoGAPS Ammonia-powered Gas Carrier Design

Classification society DNV has awarded the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping in collaboration with Nordic Green Ammonia Powered Ships (NoGAPS) partners BW Epic Kosan, Yara, MAN Energy Solutions, Wärtsilä, Global Maritime Forum and Breeze Ship Design an Approval in Principle (AiP) for the design of an ammonia-powered gas carrier – the M/S NoGAPS. The certificate was presented during the Nor-Shipping trade fair at the DNV stand.The maritime industry is accelerating in its drive towards a multi-fuel zero carbon future.

MAN Marine Engines Approved for Renewable Diesel

MAN Engines said it has approved all marine engines from its current product range for use with renewable diesel fuel in line with the standard EN15940 in Europe and the US-American specification ASTM D975 of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) with immediate effect. MAN Supplies Engines for German Customs Vessels

MAN Engines said it is supplying engines for German customs vessels for the first time in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany.The vessels, which are being built at Tamsen Maritim in Rostock, are also the first suitable for fording to be used by the customs authorities. The shallow 1.2 meter draft with a 23 meter length greatly reduces the risk of running aground at low water levels."The new vessels provide significant added value in the calm waters of the North Sea and at low tide.

Maersk Sells 14 Product Tankers

Maersk Product Tankers said Tuesday it has entered an agreement with China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd (CDBL) for the sale of 14 product tankers at a total value of $422 million.Under the terms of the deal, nine of the vessels will be bareboat chartered back to Maersk Product Tankers. Maersk Adds Xihe Tankers to Its MR Pool

Denmark's Maersk Tankers said it reached a deal to operate four product tankers owned by Singaporean shipping group Xihe Holdings (Xihe).Part of the Lim family business empire, Xihe Holdings and its subsidiaries were placed under court-appointed supervisors earlier this year.Maersk Tanks said the agreement aligns with its strategy to build scale through partnerships driven by the use of digitalization to cut CO2 emissions and boost partner returns.
