Al Roker to Host Coast Guard Foundation Gala

The Coast Guard Foundation announced today that Al Roker will host its 32nd Annual Salute to the United States Coast Guard on Thursday, October 11, 2012 in New York City. Nine-time Emmy winner Al Roker is the producer of The Weather Channel’s docu-series Coast Guard Alaska and the upcoming series Coast Guard Florida, as well as numerous other programs. The gala event honors the bravery and courage of the U.S. Coast Guard personnel who enforce maritime law, protect our homeland and preserve the environment.

Coast Guard Foundation Initiates Fund Drive

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, has announced  that it is launching a fundraising campaign to support Coast Guard members and their families who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. Working closely with the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Foundation will distribute funds to Coast Guard members who are stationed in the affected areas of Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

CG Foundation Fundraiser for Families of Helicopter Tragedy

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced a fundraising drive for its emergency Family Disaster Relief Fund in response to the Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter crash off the coast of La Push, Washington this past Wednesday, July 7th, that claimed the lives of three servicemen. The crewmembers of CG-6017 were based at Air Station Sitka, Alaska. The Coast Guard Foundation is seeking financial support for the Family Disaster Relief Fund. This fund provides immediate assistance to the families of the fallen crewmembers as they deal with this tragedy, and will provide comfort for other Coast Guard families who find themselves in similar devastating circumstances.

Honored for lifetime gifts exceeding $2m, the Foundation presented the award to Fred P. Moosally, Coast Guard Foundation trustee and president of Lockheed Martin’s Maritime Systems and Sensors (MS2) business unit, at the company’s Washington, D.C. offices. 2015 SCHOLARSHIP SEASON NOW OPEN!

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that it has kicked off its scholarship season. Accepting applications until March 15th, children of enlisted Coast Guard members may apply for scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. Over the last 20 years, the Coast Guard Foundation has given more than $3 million through its scholarship program to family members of brave Coast Guard men and women to help them achieve their dreams of higher education.

The Coast Guard Foundation is a Connecticut-based non-profit organization – originally started by a trio of Coast Guard veterans who wanted to give back to their chosen service – which aims to provide support and comfort to the men and women in the Coast Guard, and their families. At the helm of the Coast Guard Foundation is Anne Brengle, a New York City native with a passion for non-profits and all matters maritime. When Brengle was recruited eight years ago to lead the Coast Guard Foundation, she wasn’t looking to change jobs. But following a meeting with the group, she was hooked.
