PPG to acquire Consorcio Comex
PPG Industries, a world leader in protective and marine coatings, announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Consorcio Comex, S.A. de C.V. (Comex), an architectural and industrial coatings company with headquarters in Mexico City, Mexico. The transaction is valued at $2.3 billion and is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Comex manufactures coatings and related products in Mexico and sells them in Mexico and Central America through approximately 3,600 stores that are independently owned and operated by more than 700 concessionaires. Comex also sells its products through regional retailers, wholesalers and direct sales to customers.
Technip Acquires Control of Cybernétix
Technip entered into an agreement with Gilles MICHEL, his holding Askoad Conseil, Comex SA and Sercel Holding, for the acquisition of all of their interests in Cybernétix S.A., representing approximately 45.7% of Cybernétix’s share capital, at an aggregate purchase price of approximately 14.1 million euros. Signing of this agreement follows today's positive opinion of Cybernétix Works' Council in relation to Technip’s acquisition of the entire interests of Cybernétix reference shareholders, as announced in the press release of November 4, 2011. IXSEA Launches Refitted Survey Vessel
IXSEA has completed work on the SV John Lethbridge on behalf of Comex Deep Sea Salvage Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Subsea Resources PLC. The refit was undertaken by H2X shipyard in cooperation with IXSEA and COMEX SA. The vessel is currently in the Atlantic working on a number of projects including the Miranda project and the Ella project. The survey ship is equipped with top of the range sonar equipment, fitted by IXSEA, which is capable of surveying depths to 6000 m as well as a Comanche Sub-Atlantic ROV, which can reach similar depths. The ROV has two work manipulators, HMI lights, digital cameras and flash and 100kgf/ 200 lbf DC Thrusters.
