New Hybrid-electric Ferry Being Built for New York City

New York City is set to receive its first public hybrid-electric ferry, Mayor Eric Adams announced on Wednesday.The first-of-its-kind vessel—currently under construction at Conrad Shipyard’s facility in Morgan City, La.— will begin transporting passengers to Governors Island in summer of 2024. Conrad Industries Awarded Contract

Conrad Industries has been awarded a $5.5 million contract for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The contract award calls for the design and construction of a 255-foot crane barge with a fully equipped machine and fabrication shop. When delivered, the vessel's primary mission shall be the support of maintenance dredging and repair of navigation structures and facilities for the Nashville District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Conrad Reports First Quarter 2002 Results

Conrad Industries, Inc. compared to net income of $951,000 and earnings per diluted share of $0.13 for the three months ended March 31, 2001. Revenues for the three months ended March 31, 2002 were $10.6 million compared to $11.9 million for the three months ended March 31, 2001. The company's backlog was $11.3 million at March 31, 2002 as compared to $10.4 million at December 31, 2001 and $13.2 million at March 31, 2001. Gross profit was $2.1 million (19.8% of revenue) for the three months ended March 31, 2002 as compared to gross profit of $2.8 million (23.3% of revenue) for the three months ended March 31, 2001. Conrad Awarded Ferry Contract

Conrad Industries, Inc. announced the award of a $9.5 million contract for the Alaska Marine Highway System. The contract award calls for the construction of a 181-ft. ferry capable of transporting 149 passengers and 18 vehicles. When delivered, the vessel will provide service between Metlakatla and Ketchikan, two of the Inside Passage of Alaska’s southernmost communities. Kenneth G.
