NBGI Private Equity: Acquisition of Cosalt Offshore
NBGI Private Equity, investor in Aberdeen-based ATR Group, is acquiring the Aberdeen and Norway operations of Cosalt Offshore. The deal, due to complete later today, will reportedly stabilie the Cosalt business which has been through a difficult period in recent years, safeguard jobs and provide funding to capitalize on international growth opportunities. ATR chief executive, Keith Moorhouse, will lead the enlarged group. He said, “This deal will be welcomed by Cosalt’s staff, customers and suppliers as an end to a period of uncertainty. Cosalt has an excellent technical and operational reputation and is an integral part of the supply chain of many of the energy sector’s leading oil service companies and operators.
Cosalt Offshore Secures CNR Contract
Cosalt Offshore has been awarded a contract with CNR International (UK) Limited. (CNR). The contract, which is for three years,comes with a two one year options and will see Cosalt Offshore provide CNR with lifting and mechanical handling support services on five platforms – Tiffany, Ninian North, Central and South and Murchison. Cosalt Offshore Acquires Spooling Winch
Cosalt Offshore, which provides lifting, tooling and marine services to the oil & gas industry, has recently ordered a second 50-tonne spooling winch from ACE Winches as part of a major investment in equipment. The second winch, destined for Norway, was ordered following an increasingly high demand for the first, which has been in constant operation in the North Sea since its delivery in February 2011. The winch package is designed to carry 50 tonnes of wire rope or umbilical and complements Cosalt Offshore’s full range of quality lifting products for the energy industry.

Mitchell Commercial Director at Cosalt Offshore
Cosalt Offshore, a provider of lifting, tooling and marine services to the oil and gas industry, has announced the appointment of Lisa Mitchell as commercial director. Mitchell has worked for the company since 2000, when it was GTC Group and then became Cosalt Offshore in 2007, following acquisition. Her previous roles included contracts manager and commercial manager. Mitchell, a Law and Management honors graduate from The Robert Gordon University and former pupil of Westhill Academy, worked at Conoco and Brown and Root before joining GTC Group.
