DMC Delivers Rudders to Chinese Yard

Netherlands-based Damen Marine Components (DMC), which specializes in the design and production of rudders, has completed the supply of nine Van der Velden ATLANTIC rudders to COSCO Guangdong Shipyard over a two-and-a-half-year period.The rudders have been installed on nine 1,750 TEU Feeder Container Vessels built for a UK-headquartered ship owning and management company, said DMC.The supply took place in three stages with a first contract signed by DMC and COSCO Guangdong in March 2017 for the immediate supply of three ATLANTIC rudders, plus an option on a further three. In June 2017 those options were exercised and a further three contracted by the shipyard, taking the total to nine.

"Bonny River" TSH Dredger Delivered

The trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Bonny River built at Royal IHC’s Chinese partner yard COSCO Guangdong Shipyard was recently delivered to the Belgian dredging company DEME. The TSHD features a number of advance technologies, and is driven by controllable pitch propellers and transverse thrusters from Schottel. Dredger Bonny River Launched in China

DEME's latest trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), Bonny River, was launched at Royal IHC's partner yard COSCO Guangdong Shipyard in China and is due to be commissioned and put into operation in the coming weeks.The TSHD has a capacity of 15,000 m3 and a maximum dredging depth of 102 meters.According to Royal IHC, Bonny River combines various functions, such as the ability to dredge hard soil with its heavy duty suction tube combined with the ability to reach great depths with its XXL tube.Environmentally friendly aspects such as minimizing turbulence with its closed process water circuit, installation of dual-fuel engines and CLEANSHIP & Green Passport notation make Bonny River a versatile TSHD, Royal IHC added.

Rolls-Royce to Upgrade PSVs with Battery Packs

Six offshore platform supply vessels (PSVs) built and then laid up by the Cosco Guangdong yard in China will be equipped with battery-powered energy systems from Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine before going to work for SEACOSCO. The six vessels are among eight that were laid up at the shipyard after being ordered in 2013 and 2014 that were recently taken over by SEACOSCO, a joint venture between SEACOR Marine Holding and China Cosco Shipping Group. The vessel’s new owners have decided to give six of the vessels an environmental upgrade, with an option for a further two.

COSCO Delivers PSV and Two Jack-up Rigs

Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of its 51 percent owned Cosco Shipyard Group Co., Ltd., has delivered two jackups to the Foresight Group of companies through United Arab Emirates-based drilling and rig management services firm Hallworthy International FZC. Cosco Dalian signed the delivery documents for the two jackups,"N527" and "N581" -- possibly Vivekanand 2 (350' ILC) and Vivekanand 3 (350' ILC) -- with the buyer recently. The  jack-up  rigs,  both  measuring  74.09  meters  in  LOA  (length  of  all),  62.80  meters  in width,  are  designed  to  operate  at  water  depths  of  350  feet  and  is  capable  of  performing drilling operations at depths of up to 30,000 feet.

COSCO Readies Livestock Carrier for Vroon

Vroon Offshore Services, a Dutch offshore shipping company, has announced that the launching took place last week at COSCO Guangdong Shipyard,China of Gudali Express. The vessel is the seventh and last newbuilding livestock carrier to be built for Vroon at this shipyard. The 68-meter subsea support vessel is the second of two such vessels built at Fujian, China. Six newbuilding livestock carriers have already been delivered to the company by COSCO, all of which are trading successfully. These livestock carriers incorporate a revolutionary bow design that ensures maximum comfort for cargo and crew, while maintaining high speeds. Optimal pen arrangements guarantee smooth loading and discharging, whilst providing all livestock with easy access to water and fodder.

Livestock Carrier Greyman Express Delivered

Cosco Guangdong shipyard has delivered the 6th livestock carrier “Greyman Express” to Duch Vroon B.V. Company. “Greyman Express” matches the AMSA latest specification, equipped with a 4500 sq.m kkraal area and could ship 3000 adult cattles and the total length is 134.8 meters and the top speed can reach 17kn. The vessel has a bowknot hull design to make a comfortable environment for the animals during shipment. The vessel also equipped with automatic drinking water system, automatic feed delivery system, ventilation system and other animals living facilities which all passed AMSA inspection. These livestock carrier is “next‑generation” livestock vessel, boasting a cargo capacity of approximately 4,500 sqm and a cruising range of around 18,000 NM.

MacGregor Pusnes Loading Systems for Cosco Shipyard

By combining well-proven MacGregor Pusnes technology in bow loading and offloading systems, MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has helped to develop a solution that enables crude oil to be loaded directly from a floating production storage offloading (FPSO) facility or a floating storage offloading (FSO) unit to a conventional tanker, up to very large crude carrier (VLCC) size. The first contracts for the systems have been signed with China's Cosco Shipyard Group. "MacGregor, and its Pusnes brand, has a long history of developing pioneering offshore loading systems within the industry," says Høye Høyesen, Vice President, MacGregor Advanced Offshore Solutions.

Cosco Bags Contract for Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger

COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., Ltd, has secured a  contract from a European buyer to build one 15, 000m 3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger.    The Singapore-listed shipbuilder COSCO Guangdong and the buyer have agreed  to keep the contract price  confidential.    The vessel, to be built at its Guangdong yard, is scheduled for delivery in the second  quarter of 2018.   Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the contract is not expected to have a material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of the Company for the year ending 31 December 2016.

VOS Partner Delivered to Vroon

Netherlands based shipping company Vroon has taken delivery of a newly built platform supply vessel (PSV), VOS Partner. The vessel was handed over to Vroon on January 14 during a ceremony at Cosco Guangdong Shipyard in China. The Dutch flagged VOS Partner is the third of six PX121-type PSVs being built at the shipyard for Vroon featuring the Ulstein-patented X-BOW design. Coincidentally, VOS Partner is the 100th vessel of Ulstein design. The new ships for Vroon comply with ABS class requirements for dynamic-positioning system Class II (DPS-2) and reduced noise and vibration to satisfy HAB(WB).

Greyman Express Launched

China’s COSCO Guangdong Shipyard today launched Greyman Express, the sixth newbuilding livestock carrier to be constructed for Dutch company Vroon at this yard. Four newbuilding livestock carriers have already been delivered to Vroon and have entered service. The fifth vessel, Gloucester Express, will be delivered later this year, with the final two vessels - Greyman Express and Gudali Express – joining the fleet in 2016. These revolutionary livestock carriers are “next‑generation” livestock vessels, boasting a cargo capacity of approximately 4,500 sqm and a cruising range of around 18,000 NM. COSCO Delivers PSV to COSL

On July 22, COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard delivered a platform supply vessel (PSV), ¡°Hai Yang Shi You 660¡±, to China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL), the Chinese shipbuilder announced. The vessel measures 85.4 meters LOA, 20 meters in breadth, 8.6 meterd in depth and has a deck space of 1,000 square meters. It is designed to transport supplies and crew, as well as provide rescue and fire-fighting services for offshore platforms. The production design of the vessel was completed by COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard. COSCO Dalian has undertaken to build two PSVs for COSL. The other one is being readied for sea trials. COSCO Shipyards has secured orders for a total of four offshore supply vessels (OSVs) from COSL.

CSSC Wins 2 Survey Ships Order

On June 16th, Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd. under CSSC and COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard received 3 survey ships order. The 3 ships include 2 comprehensive physical survey ships and 1 comprehensive geophysical survey ship. The 2D six cable physical survey ship designed by the No. 701 Research Institute of CSIC and built by Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd. is mainly used for the investigation operation of 2D seismic. The 3D six cable physical survey ship designed by Marine Design & Research Institute of China and also built by Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive physical survey ship that holds the capability of collecting and dealing with the data at the 3D seismic site and measurement of ocean gravity, magnetic and water depth etc.

Cosco Bags Research Ship Order

Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard secured a contract worth over 129 million yuan ($20.8m) to build one research vessel, to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017.   The contract will become effective upon the receipt of letter of guarantee from the shipyard's bank.    Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard is a subsidiary of Cosco Corporation (Singapore) Ltd's 51 per cent-owned subsidiary, Cosco Shipyard Group.   The contract is not expected to have a material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of Cosco Corporation (Singapore) for the year ending Dec 31, 2015.   Cosco Guangdong Shipyard received its first ever research vessel conversion contract from Guangzhou Geological Survey at the end of May.

Sentinel Orders ERRV at Cosco Guandong

China's COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard has secured a contract from Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine to build a TAERRV (Tanker Assist / Emergency Response / Rescue / Field Support Vessel). Cosco says the vessel’s expected delivery date is in the first quarter of 2017. Sentinel Marine has an option to order an additional TAERRV within six months. The shipbuilder and the client have agreed to keep the contract price confidential and the contract includes an option for a second vessel. According to a press release by the yard, COSCO Guangdong and Sentinel Marine have agreed to keep the contract price confidential. The announcement comes as Cosco Shipyard urges cooperation between yards and rig owners during the offshore market's current downturn.

Cosco Corp Profit Down

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) Limited, offshore marine engineering, shipbuilding, ship repair & conversion and dry bulk shipping group, has posted a net profit of SGD4.25 million (USD3.19 million), down 82% year-on-year for the first quarter that ended 31 March 2015. The Singapore-listed Chinese shipbuilding and dry bulk shipping group's turnover decreased 4.6% to $991.2 million in Q1 2015 from $1.04 billion owing to falls in shipyard and dry bulk shipping revenues. The company's revenue from its shipyard operations segment decreased by 4.7% y/y to SGD980.8 million in 1Q15 from SGD1.03 billion in 1Q14, owing to lower revenue contribution from marine engineering and ship repair. This was partially offset by an increase in revenue from shipbuilding.

First of Six PSVs Delivered to Vroon

VOS Pace, the first of six PX121-type platform supply vessels designed by ULSTEIN, was delivered to Netherlands based shipowner Vroon Offshore Services on February 5, 2015. The vessel, built at China’s Cosco Guangdong Shipyard, is destined for work in European waters along with the remainder of the ordered vessels scheduled to be delivered to Vroon during 2015 and 2016. The ULSTEIN PX121 design was first introduced to the market in 2010, when two vessels were contracted for construction at Ulstein Verft, Norway.

COSCO to Build Livestock Carrier

The Board of Directors of COSCO Corporation (Singapore) Limited have informed that COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of the Company’s 51% owned subsidiary, COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd, has secured a contract valued at approximately USD30 million from a European buyer to build one (1) 4500 square meters Livestock Carrier. The Livestock Carrier is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2016. Additionally, the ship owner has an option to render effective, within six (6) months, one (1) contract for the construction of a similar vessel. The Company will announce when the contract under the option is declared effective.

COSCO Guangdong Building 3rd Ship UT771WP Series PSV

Construction of the Guangdong company COSCO Singapore CHELLSEA third ship built offshore platform supply vessels UT771-WP (N605) was successfully started yesterday. The total length of 85.7 m platform supply vessels, width 18 m, depth 7.8 m, deck area of about 840 square meters, load up to 4400 tons, to meet the requirements DYNPOS AUTR dynamic positioning capabilities. Up to now, a total of Guangdong COSCO Shipyard to undertake four CHELLSEA same type of PSV construction orders. (Guo Yuhong)

COSCO Guandong Shipyard to Construct PSVs

COSCO Corporation (Singapore) Limited informs that its subsidiary COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard has had contract options taken up for the construction of 4 Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs). The new vessels are scheduled for delivery from 2Q 2016 to 1Q 2017, and the shipowner has also secured options for two additional platform supply vessels of this type. The contracts for the PSVs have a total value of approximately US$ 120-million.

COSCO Selects Rolls-Royce Package

Rolls-Royce won an order to provide an integrated design and equipment package for two offshore supply vessels to be built at COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., Ltd in China for Singapore based Chellsea Group. The two Rolls-Royce UT 771 WP platform supply vessels features the striking wave piercing bow designed to pierce through waves in rough seas, making it possible to keep a more constant speed, reduce fuel consumption and increase on board safety.

China Shipyard Delivers Tender Rig Barge

COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard informs of the delivery of a self-erecting drilling tender barge, to the firm Energy Drilling. The tender barge has a working depth of 2,000 meters, a drilling depth of 20,000 feet and is equipped with heavy lift cranes with a safe working load of 400 metric tonnes. According to PetroWiki, Tender Assist Drilling (TADs) units were the rig of choice in the 1950s and early 1960s in the Gulf of Mexico for development drilling off fixed platforms. They are used less commonly now, but are appropriate for certain situations, and sometimes for new drilling from an aging platform near shore. Founded in June 2001, COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd, is a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO).
