OMSA Names Fuhrmann to Regulatory Affairs Post

The Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA) announced the resignation of long-time Vice President, Richard Wells. Leevac Wins Deal to Build PSV Pair for Aries Marine

Leevac Shipyards Jennings LLC,  Jennings, La., signed contracts with Aries Marine, Inc of Lafayette, La., to build two LEEVAC Design Services “LDS” 270 DE PSV, a 270 x 56 x 21.5 ft. diesel electric Platform Supply Vessels (PSV). “We are very excited to have this opportunity to begin this partnership with a company like Aries Marine” said Christian Vaccari, President of LEEVAC. The LDS 270 DE PSV will have a deadweight capacity of 4000 LTsw and will carry more than 13,000 barrels of liquid mud. Each will be powered by four 3516C Caterpillar generators rated at 1825 kw each.

Aries Marine Announces New Build Program

Court Ramsay, President and CEO of Lafayette, La. based Aries Marine Corporation, announced in a joint statement with Eastern Shipbuilding Group that a Letter of Intent has been signed to begin construction of two Tiger shark class PSVs. The first vessel will be named the M/V Dwight S. Ramsay after CFO/owner and founder of Aries Marine. The M/V Dwight S. Ramsay will be Eastern Shipbuilding and Aker Yards latest innovation in a high capacity, fuel efficient, environmentally friendly PSV design. The Aker PSV 23 DE design is an AC diesel electric, twin Z-drive, ABS, A 1 AMS, DP-2, Solas, offshore service vessel. At 284 ft. X 62 ft. X 22 ft. the M/V Dwight S.
