Saipem Crew in Isolation after COVID-19 Case on Pipelaying Vessel

Several crewmembers aboard Saipem's offshore vessel FDS in a port in the Netherlands have been placed in isolation after a confirmed COVID-19 case aboard.As reported by Saipem last Friday, one crewmember on the pipelayer was disembarked and transferred to isolation after he was confirmed positive.Responding to Offshore Engineer's requests on how many people were tested, and how many were on board the vessel, Saipem said: "Only one colleague was tested, disembarked and placed in quarantine as he had significant symptoms (high fever and suspected pneumonia).

Costa Crociere issue a statement with their point of view regarding the recent hearings in Grosseto on the loss of the cruise ship. The Costa Concordia owners drew attention to the following points, which are condensed here. The company's Crisis Unit was promptly convened but was unable to provide the necessary support to the ship, due to the speed with which the ship sank. Bourbon Alexandre Attacked off Nigerian Coast

Bourbon confirmed that on the night of the Tuesday, September 21 to Wednesday, September 22, during an attack on the offshore oil field of Addax off the Nigerian coast, Bourbon Alexandre, together with its 16 crewmembers, have been subject to a joint assault from several speedboats. Three crewmembers, of French nationality, have been kidnapped; the 13 other crewmembers have remained on board and nobody has been injured. No claim has been made at this stage.
