New Patrol Boat Delivered to Puerto Rico PD
The Puerto Rico Police Department (PRPD) has taken delivery of a new patrol boat from Louisiana-based boatbuilder Metal Shark. The new 35-foot Defiant welded aluminum pilothouse patrol vessel, built at Metal Shark’s Jeanerette, La. production facility, joins the fleet of 36-foot Metal Shark Fearless-class high performance center console patrol boats delivered to the PRPD a year ago. The PRPD’s new patrol boat features a fully-enclosed, climate-controlled pilothouse for all weather operation, outfitted with Shockwave shock-mitigating seating for a crew of four, the builder said.

Crowley Selects Fuel Supplier for LNG Containerships
Crowley Puerto Rico Services, Inc. has selected Eagle LNG Partners as the liquefied natural gas (LNG)-supplier for the company’s new LNG-powered, Commitment Class ships, which will be delivered in 2017 for use in the U.S. mainland to Puerto Rico trade. To support Crowley’s LNG needs, Eagle LNG will build a natural gas liquefaction plant (LNG plant) offering a capacity of 200,000 gallons per day (87,000 gallons per day initially) in Jacksonville. Foss Ships Utility Trucks to Puerto Rico

Crowley Maritime Corporation has presented a Thomas B. Crowley, Sr. Memorial Scholarship to InterAmerican University student Juan Xavier Berrios Guzman, from Barranquitas. Crowley has awarded 24 scholarships totaling tens of thousands of dollars to deserving students in Puerto Rico since 1984. Students are selected for the scholarship by the Puerto Rico Department of Education based on academic success and financial need. Berrios will pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting with the long-term goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Crowley Introduces New Flat Deck Barge PR Service
The maiden voyage of Crowley Liner Services’ new flat-deck barge will end on Monday when the barge is scheduled to arrive in San Juan with a full 400-load delivery. The vessel’s deployment is a major part of Crowley’s rapid response to the sudden departure of Horizon Lines from the Puerto Rico trade. Since mid December, Crowley has, through a number of service enhancements, created additional weekly cargo carrying capacity for about 780 loads – or 78 percent the 1,000 loads previously transported by Horizon Lines in an average week.
Crowley Restructures Senior Management
Crowley Maritime Corporation announced a restructuring involving three members of its senior leadership team.
