Hardide Coating for Subsea Duties

The provider of advanced surface coating technology Hardide Coatings has provided a coating solution for a new tool that will save oil and gas operators millions of pounds per year by extending weather windows for drilling operations.According to a press release from the manufacturer of coatings,  well construction specialist DeltaTek Global selected the Hardide CVD (chemical vapour deposition) tungsten carbide-based coating for the key component of its new ArticuLock tool.ArticuLock provides operators with longer weather windows to deploy subsea hardware and improve operational reliability by removing bending fatigue in subsea running tools and landing strings.The Hardide-T chemical vapour deposition (CVD) tungsten carbide-based coating was used on the key component of the tool…

India: New Opportunities Unveiled in Shipping Sector

The Ministry of Shipping has taken many proactive and progressive interventions in the areas of shipbuilding, port development, inland waterways and coastal shipping this year for the development of the maritime sector in the country. The key initiatives includes  Sagarmala Project, Special Purpose Vehicle to provide efficient last mile rail connectivity to Major Ports, Incentive for Shipbuilding and ship-repair Industry,  Jal Marg Vikas Project, Customs and Excise Duty Exempted on the Use of Bunker Fuels for coastal transportation of EXIM and empty container and for domestic containers transported alongwith EXIM and empty containers, Cabotage Relaxed for Special Vessels and Developing 78 lighthouses as tourism centers.

CBP: Liquidation of Duties Destroyed on 9/11

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Notice stating that its practice is to suspend the liquidation of entries of merchandise subject to antidumping and/or countervailing duties (AD/CVD) until liquidation instructions are received from the Department of Commerce. Due to the extended cycle of AD/CVD entries. CBP is only now beginning to receive liquidation instructions from the Department of Commerce for many AD/CVD entries from previous years. Unfortunately, many AD/CVD entry documents were maintained by CBP at 6 World Trade Center in New York and were destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. CBP will allow importers 30 days to provide a reconstructed entry summary package to CBP for liquidation of such entries…
