Damen Delivers New Vessel to Bohlen & Doyen Bau

Dutch shipbuilding conglomerate Damen announced it has delivered a new shallow draft vessel to the German energy infrastructure construction company Bohlen & Doyen Bau GmbH, a subsidiary of Friedrich Vorwerk. The new Multi Cat 1908 SD workboat, named Scholle, is the first marine asset to be bought by the company in many years.The 19.4-meter vessel has been bought for use on a multi-year project supporting transmission system operator TenneT on its offshore grid connection systems in the North Sea.

Damen Introduces Zero Emissions Workboat

Damen Shipyards Group has unveiled the Multi Cat 1908 Electric, a fully electric, zero emissions operations workboat.The MuC 1908 E is based the Damen Multi Cat 1908, a proven product within the Damen portfolio that has been operating successfully around the world for over a quarter of a century.The MuC 1908 E is 19.05 meters by 8.4 meters, with a deck area of 35m². It offers seven tonnes of bollard pull and can travel at speeds of up to seven knots. The batteries used for the vessel’s propulsion have a lifetime of 10 years.

Three Fully-electric Patrol Boats Christened in Amsterdam

Three new Damen Patrol Vessels 1304 Electric have been christened at a recent ceremony at the Scheepvaart Museum in the maritime heart of Amsterdam. Two of the vessels, named Waterpieper and Waterhoen, were ordered by Gemeente Amsterdam (the City of Amsterdam) and the third (P55) is for Politie Eenheid Amsterdam (the Amsterdam Police). Electric Firefighting Vessels Delivered in Hamburg

The Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards Group said it handed over twin fireboats to Flotte Hamburg, a subsidiary of the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) tasked with implementing low-emission shipping in the city.With 315 kWh of battery capacity, the state-of-the-art, plug-in hybrid vessels are capable of extended, fully-electric, emissions-free operations in and around the Port of Hamburg. Prag will be operated by Hamburg’s fire service while Dresden will support the HPA, the fire service and other third parties.The vessels, classed as Damen Fire-Fighting Vessels 3508, are completely new designs.

Damen Delivers Two Multi Cats to Brabo in Antwerp

Antwerp-based Brabo Group has held a naming ceremony for a Multi Cat 1506 and a Multi Cat 1908 delivered by Damen Shipyards Group. The group’s cleaning division, Brabo Cleaning Company, has secured a contract with Port of Antwerp to maintain a pollution-free environment in the harbor.The naming ceremony took place at Brabo’s headquarters in Antwerp on October 21. The vessels were sponsored by Annick de Ridder and Yasmine Janssen.After securing the contract, Brabo required the vessels quickly.

Damen Ships Multiple Vessels to Canada in Single Shipment

Five Damen vessels have made their way across the Atlantic Ocean on a unique voyage to Canada. Early this year, Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with Ontario-based Doornekamp Construction for the delivery of a Shoalbuster 3209. The vessel was formerly part of Damen Marine Services’ charter fleet. What seemed an ordinary ship sale contract was, in fact, just the beginning.Shortly after this initial contract, Doornekamp Construction placed on order with Damen for a Stan Pontoon (barge) 7524.

Damen Delivers Crew Supply Vessel to Total Offshore

Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards has delivered a Fast Crew Supplier 1204 to Total Offshore B.V. a little over a month after the vessel was ordered.The crew transfer vessel is the first in the Total Offshore fleet. Corps van Vletterlieden Orders Damen Tug

Damen Shipyards Group has recently signed a contract with Corps van Vletterlieden for a Stan Tug 1004. The company will use the Stan Tug for mooring, supply, crew transfer, diving support and other tasks in the Port of IJmuiden in the north of the Netherlands.Having signed the contract on October 2, Damen expects to deliver the vessel in January next year. Five Coastal Ferries for Zanzibar

Damen Shipyards signed a contract with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications & Transport of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar for the supply of five inshore ferries to carry tourists visiting Pemba Island and others nearby in the Zanzibar Archipelago.The contract is for three vessels of the Damen Ferry 804 design and two of the Damen Ferry 1204 design, together with a spare parts package for the first year of operation and on-site training in operating and maintaining the vessels.

EMS Offshore Chooses Damen Shoalbuster 271

Damen Shipyards Group has won an order from maritime services company EMS Offshore Service GmbH & Co. KG for a Shoalbuster 2711. The 2711 is the latest addition to the Shoalbuster range, having made its debut in June this year.The new Shoalbuster 2711 design changes will enable it to comply with new MLC regulations stipulating additional accommodation capacity. By increasing the width of the existing Shoalbuster 2709 by two meters, Damen has boosted the accommodation capacity from six to seven personnel.

Seafast Marine Names New RSV

Seafast Marine has named its renewables service vessel (RSV) Isle of Jura at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld in The Netherlands.Isle of Jura is a newbuild vessel, constructed at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld, and is the second vessel built to a new Damen Renewables Service Vessel design.The RSV, according to Seafast Marine, is for use in the offshore and onshore wind industries. As a business based in Ross-shire in Scotland, Seafast Marine was happy to see it painted in the colors of the country’s Saint Andrew's flag.The Damen RSV 3315, evolved from the Multi Cat, is a powerful multi-purpose working vessel, designed to work in shallow as well as deeper waters. It features four azimuth thrusters, a DP2 4-point mooring system, two large cranes, hydraulic shark jaws and an AHT winch.

ST Marine Christens Multi Cat at Damen

Dutch marine construction company ST Marine Support christened its newest multi-purpose workboat (Multi Cat) AUXILIA at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld.The vessel brings the total of Multi Cats in the company’s fleet to three, following the delivery of Multi Cats 3013 ODIN in 2010 and NERO in 2013. AUXILIA is the first of her kind – a Multi Cat 3513.S. T. Marine Support approached Damen for a new Multi Cat with larger deck capacity and greater winch capacity. To complete an extensive oil pipeline dredging and installation project, Murjan Al Sharq Marine Contracting Co. Ltd. (MSMC) has taken delivery of three Damen vessels: a Stan Tug 1606, a Shoalbuster 2509, and a Stan Pontoon 4512 equipped with a Damen DOP Pump. WSA Koblenz (WasserSchiffahrtsAmbt) awarded Damen Shipyards Group a contract to build a new diving bell ship, a vessel which will succeed an existing vessel – the Carl Straat, which has been in operation since 1963.
