Denmark Lifts Sailing Restrictions Near Nord Stream Pipeline Leaks

Denmark has lifted restrictions on sailing in waters near the Nord Stream pipeline leaks in the Baltic Sea and said it was no longer dangerous for ships to navigatein the area. The restrictions were lifted by the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) at the recommendation of the Danish Energy Agency. The DMA said, however, it continues to discourage anchoring, fishing, and seabed works within one nautical mile (1.85 km) of the leaks due to "underwater obstacles". A string of blasts last September ripped holes in the Nord Stream pipelines linking Russia and Germany…

Object Near Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Poses No Safety Risk - Denmark

An object found close to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea appeared to be a maritime buoy and does not pose a safety risk, the Danish Energy Agency said on Wednesday. The object, which was retrieved on Tuesday by the Danish navy, was discovered during an inspection of the last remaining intact pipeline by Swiss-based operator Nord Stream 2 AG. "Investigations indicate that the object is an empty maritime smoke buoy, which is used for visual marking. The object does not pose a safety risk," the agency said in a statement.

RWE Selects O&M Base for Denmark's Largest Offshore Wind Farm

Renewable energy company RWE has selected Port of Thorsminde from which to carry out the operation and maintenance of its Thor offshore wind farm. With a planned capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW) Thor will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date. The wind farm will be built off the Danish west coast - approximately 22 kilometers from the port of Thorsminde. RWE in late 2021 won the rights to build Thor via a lottery systemAccording to RWE, Port of Thorsminde offers both the shortest sea and fastest air routes to the Thor offshore wind farm.

Vattenfall Selects Hvide Sande as Service Port for Danish Offshore Wind Farms

Swedish power firm Vattenfall has chosen Hvide Sande Harbour in Denmark as its service port for Vesterhav Syd and Nord wind farms in the Danish part of the North Sea. Denmark to Build Giant Wind Energy Hub In the North Sea

Denmark has reached a deal on the construction of the first of its kind wind energy hub in the North Sea that promises to produce yet unseen amounts of green electricity, in what has been described as the largest construction project in Danish history.The energy hub - an artificial island - will serve as an offshore power plant gathering and distributing green electricity from hundreds of wind turbines surrounding the island directly to consumers in countries surrounding the North Sea.

Maersk Supply Service, Ørsted Working on Offshore Charging Buoy

Danish offshore vessel specialist Maersk Supply Service and its compatriot offshore wind developer Ørsted have teamed up to test a prototype offshore charging buoy.The buoy will act as a safe mooring point and a charging station for vessels, potentially displacing a significant amount of marine fuel with "green" electricity. The prototype buoy has been developed by Maersk Supply Service while Ørsted is responsible for the buoy’s integration with the electrical grid at the offshore wind farm.

Denmark Rethinks Offshore Project

The Energy Board of Appeal has cancelled and withdrawn the part of the construction licence for the Vattenfall's Vesterhav Syd Offshore Wind Farm concerning assessment of environmental impacts, with a view to renewed processing by the Danish Energy Agency (DEA).Following the cancelation, DEA has initiated a new environmental impact assessment (EIA) process for Vattenfall’s Offshore Wind Farm, said an official statement from the agency.An EIA supplement will now be drawn up for the specific project, and after this the Danish Energy Agency will be able to make its final decision on the matter, after consulting the public interests involved and with the right of appeal.Therefore…

Danish Energy Agency Clears Maersk Oil Sale to Total

The Danish Energy Agency has approved AP Moller-Maersk's  US$ 7.45 billion sale of of Mærsk Olie & Gas A/S (Maersk Oil) to global oil major Total S.A., the conglomerate said. As part of the agreement Total will take over Maersk Oil’s organisation, portfolio, obligations and rights with minimal pre-conditions. The Danish Energy Agency's approval of the transfer contains conditions, including that A.P. Moller -Maersk, as seller, assumes a secondary liability for the decommissioning of existing Danish offshore facilities corresponding to Maersk Oil’s 31.2% interest in the Danish Underground Consortium, should Total be unable to cover such costs. The information in this announcement does not change A.P. Moller -Maersk’s previous financial guidance for the financial year 2018.

DONG Postpones Major Oil Project Offshore Denmark

DONG Energy <IPO-DONG.CO> has terminated a contract to build an oil and gas platform for its Hejre field, postponing indefinitely the major development offshore Denmark, the Danish majority state-owned utility said on Tuesday. DONG said the supplier consortium, Technip France and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, had not been able to meet its commitments under the contract. DONG, which operates the field and holds a 60 percent stake, and Germany's Bayerngas, which has the remaining 40 percent, will assess alternatives to develop the field and will work closely with the Danish authorities, DONG said. Noreco Ink Deal with Denmark Partners

Norwegian Energy Company ASA announces that it has reached an agreement with its joint venture partners in Denmark with respect to its forfeited licences and related abandonment liabilities. Noreco has terminated its joint venture and its participation in the Nini and Cecile oilfields (the “Licences”). According to provisions in the respective joint operating agreements, Noreco has forfeited and transferred its participating interests in the Licences to the Partners on a pro-rata basis. In addition, the settlement for claims on defaulted cash calls and capping of the abandonment liability includes a cash consideration of NOK 60 million, and an 18.2 per cent working interest in the Lulita field.

A.P. Moeller Hopes To Maintain 2001 Oil Production

Oil and shipping group A.P. Moeller said it hoped to maintain its record North Sea oil production in 2001 at 300,000 barrels per day (bpd). Danish Underground Consortium (DUC), in which A.P. Moeller holds a 39 percent stake, produced 1.275 million tons of oil in 2000, 10.1 percent above 1999 level, while gas production was down 3.5 percent at 6.401 billion cu. "Oil production in 2000 was in line with expectations. We hope to maintain the current production of 300,000 bpd, but it's an ambitious target," Maersk Oil & Gas deputy director Bo Wildfang told Reuters. A.P. Moller had expected its oil and gas production in 2000 to end "a little higher" than in 1999.

A.P. Moller Looks To Resume North Sea Oil Production

Danish oil and shipping conglomerate A.P. Moeller hopes to resume some of its 120,000 bpd North Sea oil production, which was halted 11 days ago due to a gas explosion, the Danish Energy Agency said on Thursday. "There are considerations about resuming some of the production this weekend. We are thinking about it and will meet with Maersk on Friday," an agency spokesman said. The gas explosion occurred on May 20 on the Gorm Field, where production was halted immediately as well as on its four satellite fields Halfdan, Skjold, Rolf and Dagmar. In all, the five fields produced 120,700 bpd in April or 40 percent of Danish Underground Consortium`s (DUC) total production of 302,200 bpd.
