President to Honor Early Career NOAA Scientists

Three NOAA scientists were named as recipients of the 2010 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). The award is the highest honor given by the U.S. government to outstanding scientists and engineers in the early stages of their careers. “It is very gratifying that NOAA scientists are honored by this significant award,” said Jane Lubchenco, Ph.D., under secretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere and NOAA administrator. “We are immensely proud of these three individuals. Lynden Int’l Names New Pres and Int’l VP

Lynden International has promoted David Richardson to president and Steve Tofts to vice president, international. Richardson succeeds Dennis Patrick who retired from the company Oct. 31. Richardson joined Lynden in 1980 as assistant controller and later served as executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has more than 30 years of industry experience, including eight years at Airborne Freight Corporation, and is general director and board member for several Russian companies affiliated with Lynden. For the past decade he has focused on the development of international projects, specifically in Moscow and the Russian Far East. Tofts came to Lynden in 2005 from Lupprian's Global Logistics in London.
