Dominion E&P Names New Offshore VP

Dominion Exploration and Production, a subsidiary of Dominion, has appointed Richard L. “Rick” Fowler vice president and general manager, Gulf of Mexico Operations. The region includes Dominion E&P’s deepwater, Continental Shelf, and southern Louisiana assets. Fowler previously was general manager of deepwater development.

Dominion Announces GOM Discovery

Dominion Exploration & Production, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion, announced a natural gas discovery on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf at the West Cameron 130 field. The field is located in 40 ft. of water approximately 250 miles southwest of New Orleans. “We are encouraged by this latest discovery in what continues to be the core area for our Gulf of Mexico Shelf program,” said Kevin P. Guilbeau, senior vice president and general manager for Dominion E&P’s offshore unit. “The new discovery is deeper than our existing production in the field. An exploratory well, the West Cameron 130 #3 reached a depth of 19,365 feet and encountered approximately 250 feet of net pay in multiple zones.

Dominion E&P Returns to New Orleans

Post-hurricane production from The Devils Tower platform includes new subsea fields at Triton and Goldfinger. Located approximately 140 miles southeast of New Orleans, Devils Tower is deepest dry-tree truss spar in the world. Owned by Williams and operated by Dominion Exploration & Production, the spar has successfully weathered three major hurricanes. Dominion Exploration & Production employees recently celebrated their New Orleans homecoming with a crawfish boil held in front of the company's new offices -- the home of Dominion's offshore business unit. During the last two months, 210 employees and their families have returned to New Orleans from temporary housing in Houston.

Dominion E&P Announces Triton/Goldfinger Production

Dominion Exploration and Production, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion, has begun production from the Triton and Goldfinger subsea wells, located 140 miles southeast of New Orleans on Mississippi Canyon Blocks 771, 772 and 728 in the Gulf of Mexico. “These new additions are excellent examples of the returning strength of Gulf of Mexico operations,” said Duane Radtke, president and chief executive officer. Triton/Goldfinger consists of three subsea wells connected to the Devils Tower floating production system via insulated six-inch by ten-inch diameter flowlines. Devils Tower, the world’s deepest dry-tree spar, is owned by Williams and operated by Dominion E&P in 5,610 feet of water on Mississippi Canyon Block 773.

Coflexip Unit Wins Pipeline Contract In GOM

Coflexip Stena Offshore Inc. was awarded by Williams Energy Services a large EPCI contract for the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of two 18-in. export pipelines, totalling 160 miles from the Devils Tower field development, located in 5,700 ft water depth in Block 773 of the Gulf of Mexico, to shallow water tie-in locations at the shelf edge. The contract work scope comprises project management, engineering, procurement and installation of two export pipelines consisting of 160 miles of 18-in. pipeline, 12 miles of 14-in. pipeline and two 14-in. steel catenary risers (SCR). CSO will also be responsible for hooking up of the SCRs to the new-built Dominion Exploration Devils Tower Spar…
