BHGI-designed ATB Unit Under Construction

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) informs it is currently completing the detail design phase of a 399’ x 74’ x 30’ 80,000 BBL double hull oil tank barge and a 120’ x 40’ x 18’- 6” twin screw ocean service tug. Both vessels are currently being built under ABS survey at Conrad Shipyard, L.L.C. in Amelia, La. with a 2015/2016 delivery date. The new ATB Gulf Venture and Gulf Carrier will be operated domestically and internationally by John W. Stone Oil Distributor to support the continually expanding shore bases as well as offshore operations.

Tug & Barge Contracts - Bristol Harbor

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was recently awarded two design jobs for two separate repeat clients from Puerto Rico. Harbor Bunkering Corporation has commissioned BHGI to design another double hull oil tank barge. BHGI has designed two barges for the San Juan bunkering business in the past. In 2004, BHGI designed the 30,000 BBLS double hull oil barge Enterprise for Harbor Bunkering Corporation, and in 2005 they designed a 60,000 BBLS barge that is still to be built. Bollinger Delivers Tank Barge to Hornbeck

Bollinger Marine Fabricators has delivered the Energy 6508, double hull, oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90), to Hornbeck Offshore Transportation. The delivery of the Energy 6508 was preceded by the delivery of the Energy 6506 and Energy 6507 earlier in 2007. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.The 60,000 BBL capacity Energy 6508 measures 362 x 60 x 29 ft. The series of barges are OPA’90 compliant, classed by ABS to the requirements of the Maltese Cross A1, unmanned oceans, and manned special service.

RTC Acquires Senesco Marine

The North Kingstown-based Senesco Marine, previously known as the Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corp., has been acquired by Reinauer Transportation Companies LLC, according to a report in the Providence Business News - www.pbn.com. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The North Kingstown company formally changed its name to Senesco Marine in October 2003, when it also announced it was streamlining its design and construction procedures to speed delivery. It is headquartered in the Quonset Business Park, where it has a fully paved 25-acre new-construction facility, with more than 215,000 feet of covered floor space, and a 6-acre repair facility with a 1,200-foot-long pier in 35 feet of water.

Bid Solicitation for 60,000 bbls DH Oil Barge

An invitation to bid on the construction of a new 60,000 BBLS Double Hull Oil Barge for Harbor Bunkering Corporation of San Juan, Puerto Rico is expected this quarter. Bristol Harbor Marine Design (BHMD) is currently designing the vessel for the San Juan based bunkering company, while the 30,000 BBLS Double Hull Oil Barge that BHMD designed for the company last year is being completed at Orange Shipbuilding, Orange, Texas. BHMD is also working on a tug design for the client, which will go out to bid later this year. Harbor Bunkering Corporation’s Operations Manager, Eric Rivera, is excited about the new tug and barge. “Although not an Articulated Tug and Barge (ATB), we are specifically designing the two vessels to work together hand in glove,” said Mr. Rivera.

Bollinger Delivers Barge to K-Sea

DBL 28 the 1st in a series of eight OPA’90 compliant, Lakes, Bays & Sounds, ABS and USCG certified tank barges delivered from Bollinger to K-Sea Transportation for use in harbor service in ports on the Northeast U. S. Coast. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, LLC, (BMF) Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the DBL 28, a double hull, oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90), to K-Sea Transportation Partners L.P, Staten Island, N.Y. Following the delivery of the DBL 28, Bollinger announced the signing of four sister ships. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The 28,000 BBL capacity DBL 28 measures 297.6-feet in length, with a 54-foot beam and 13-foot depth.

News: Bollinger Delivers Second DH Barge to K-Sea

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, Amelia, La., delivered DBL 81, an 80,000-barrel ocean service, double hull, oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA '90) to K-Sea Transportation Corp., Staten Island, NY. It is the second of a four OPA '90 barge contract underway at Bollinger for K-Sea. DBL 101, a 100,000 BBL barge, the first of the four was delivered by Bollinger in July, 2002. The remaining two barges in the contract will each have capacities of 80,000 and 100,000 BBL's, and are scheduled for delivery in the second and fourth quarter of 2003. DBL 81 was built to a new design provided by Guarino and Cox naval architects and marine engineers, Mandeville, La., which was adapted from a Richard Taubler Inc. design.
