Ingalls Shipbuilding Delivers Warship 'Arlington' (LPD 24)

'Arlington', following extensive sea trials, is the eighth ship in the LPD 17 class of ships Ingalls has delivered to the Navy. The ship performed well during builder's and U.S. Navy acceptance trials. Ingalls has three more LPDs in various stages of development or construction. Built to be survivable and flexible, these complex warships enable the services to carry out their missions without constraints or additional assets. "The delivery of LPD 24 caps an outstanding year in our amphibious shipbuilding programs," said Ingalls' LPD Vice President Doug Lounsberry.

Ingalls Shipbuilding Delivers LPD 23 'Anchorage' to USN

Ingalls Shipbuilding division delivers the seventh ship of the 'San Antonio' (LPD 17) class to be built at Ingalls. The ship recently completed U.S. Navy acceptance trials, with shipbuilders successfully accomplishing more than 200 tests on the ship during the sea trial period. Ingalls has now delivered seven ships in the class and has four more in various stages of development or construction. LPDs are built to be survivable and flexible. The complex, survivable ships enable the services to carry out their missions without constraints or additional assets.

Ingalls Shipbuilding Cuts First Plate for USN's LPD 27

The ship, under construction at Ingalls Shipbuilding division, is the 11th ship in the 'USS San Antonio' (LPD 17) class of ships. On July 27 2012 Ingalls was awarded a US$1.5-billion contract to build LPD 27. The start of fabrication milestone marks the first 100 tons of steel being cut for units on the LPD 27. The next major event is keel laying, currently scheduled for second quarter of 2013, and delivery of LPD 27 is scheduled for mid-2017. Six of LPD 27's sister ships, LPDs 17-22, have been delivered to the Navy while LPDs 23-26 are in various stages of construction.

Ingalls Shipbuilding Contracted to Build Eleventh LPD

The U.S. Navy awards Huntington Ingalls Industries a US$1.5-billion fixed-price incentive contract for amphibious transport dock LPD 27. The contract is for the detail design and construction of the amphibious transport dock LPD 27 and it will be built at the company's Ingalls Shipbuilding division. Ingalls is building the entire San Antonio (LPD 17) class of ships, the newest addition to the Navy's 21st century amphibious assault force. LPDs are built to be survivable and flexible.

HII: New Navy Ship - LPD 23 - Completes Trials

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that the company's seventh amphibious transport dock, Anchorage (LPD 23), returned Friday from successful builder's sea trials in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship is currently under construction at Ingalls' Avondale facility. Ingalls Shipbuilding Wins $70m Navy Deal

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) said its Ingalls Shipbuilding division has received a $70m cost-plus-fixed-fee advance procurement contract modification from the U.S. Navy to provide long-lead materials for LPD 27, the 11th amphibious transport dock of the USS San Antonio (LPD 17) class. The funds awarded to Ingalls will be used to purchase long-lead-time materials and major equipment in support of the new ship, including main engines and diesel generators and other equipment such as electrical switchboards, deck equipment and fire extinguishing systems. The work will be performed at the company's Pascagoula facility. This is the fourth advance procurement contract for LPD 27. The first contract was awarded in October 2010.

Ingalls Delivers LPD 22 to the U.S. Navy

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) delivered the company's sixth amphibious transport dock, San Diego (LPD 22), to the U.S. Navy. The ship was delivered in a brief ceremony at Ingalls Shipbuilding. "This delivery exemplifies the unique skill and craftsmanship of our shipbuilders," said Doug Lounsberry, Ingalls Shipbuilding's vice president and program manager, LPD 17 program. "What we are accomplishing collectively in the LPD program with the Navy and our Supervisor of Shipbuilding partners proves the value of our shipbuilding knowledge.

HHI Ingalls Wins $98.6m in Navy Funds

The U.S. Navy awarded Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) a $98 million cost-plus-fixed-fee advance procurement contract modification for long-lead materials for LPD 27, the 11th amphibious transport dock ship of the USS San Antonio (LPD 17) class.The work, which will be conducted by the Ingalls Shipbuilding division in Pascagoula, will include the purchase of long-lead-time materials and major equipment in support of the new ship, such as main engines and diesel generators and other equipment, including electrical switchboards, deck equipment and fire extinguishing systems.This is the second advance procurement contract for LPD 27. Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Shipbuilding sector launched the company's newest amphibious transport dock ship Arlington (LPD 24) on Nov. 23. LPD 24 is the eighth ship of the USS San Antonio (LPD 17) class of ships being built at the Gulf Coast facilities. "This is a top-quality warship and our shipbuilding team has done an outstanding job of meeting their commitments to one of the most important milestones in the life of any ship," said Doug Lounsberry, LPD 17 program manager, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding.
