Drydocks World Wins Dubai Chamber CSR Label

Drydocks World group the leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors has received the Dubai Chamber Corporate Social Responsibility Label in recognition of their efforts and contribution to excellence in various areas of social responsibility. This award honors Drydocks World’s integrated approach that incorporates economic, environmental, and societal imperatives to create a thriving workplace and community. The organization applies international best practices in the provision of health and safety, as well as providing charitable support to help the less fortunate in the region and the world. Drydocks World Secures New ISO Certificate

Drydocks World the international service providers to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors won the ISO 3834-2: 2005 certificate for quality requirements on fusion welding of metallic materials. This certificate validates Drydocks World’s capabilities in line with international welding standards and criteria, ensuring proper monitoring, documenting, testing and supervision of the welding process. The terms of service required in relation to welding have been met through compliance with rules, conditions and requirements. The ISO 3834-2: 2005pledges that the implementation of welding operations are being carried out correctly and accurately through the development of welding procedures.

Drydocks World, Maritime World Win Excellence Awards

Drydocks World and Maritime World have won the Excellence Award given by the International Maritime Club at the Golden Bells Awards 2015 - Middle East. Drydocks World Group has won the Best Maritime Conference Award in recognition of their successin organizing the “2nd Mare Forum Dubai 2015,” which held its second edition on the 21st of January 2015 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdanbin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. “The 2nd Mare Forum Dubai 2015” the Dubai Global Summit of Marine and Maritime Leaders provided an interactive platform to network and debate contemporary themes in the shipping, marine and maritime industries.

Buamim Addresses Offshore Support Journal Conference

Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World Group and Maritime World participated in the "Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference" held from February 17th to 19th 2015, in London. The conference saw good participation from key global and regional speakers in the marine, maritime and shipping sectors. It brought together many of the offshore support industry’s leaders such as major oil companies, shipbuilders, ship-owners, financiers, designers, suppliers and original equipment manufacturers and industry associations. Drydocks World hosts INTERTANKO Team

Drydocks World received a high-level delegation of the Council members from the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO) on 11 November. The delegation included Mr. Olav Eek Thorstensen, MD & CEO of Thome Shipmanagement, Ms. Ann-Marie Astrom, Vice Chairman of the Rederi AB Gotland. The delegation also included members of the board: Mr. Derya Sabaz, COO / Co-owner of v Besiktas Likid AS, Mr. Takis E. PT Batam Maritime Center signs MoU

Sixth Sword of Honour for Drydocks World

For the sixth year in a row, Drydocks World – Dubai (DDW-D), a ship repair, conversion and new building yard in the region and the flagship company of the Drydocks World group, has been the recipient of the British Safety Council’s (BSC) globally respected Sword of Honour. The award is in recognition of the consistent success the Dubai yard has achieved in applying internationally accepted safety standards. The Sword of Honour scheme, now in its 30th year, recognizes organizations that have implemented safety systems that are among the best in the world.

Drydocks World Delivers Multi-purpose OCV

Drydocks World, the global maritime arm of Dubai World, announced the delivery of OSA Goliath, one of the world’s largest multi-purpose OCVs at its Drydocks World – Pertama yard on April 23. OSA Goliath is built for Coastline Maritime, a prominent Singapore-based group with a 30-year history of vessel ownership design, construction and operation. The vessel dimensions are 590.5 ft by 105 ft by 39.5 ft and 22,000 dwt. It is equipped with DP-3 and a 2,000-tonne crane to install offshore platforms and pipelines in deep waters.

Drydocks World Participates in Sea Asia

Drydocks World, the global maritime arm of Dubai World, announced their participation in Sea Asia 2009, scheduled to take place in Singapore from the 21st to the 23rd of April 2009. Sea Asia 2009 will bring together top maritime professionals, which include Shipping CEOs and executives of over 350 international companies from 45 nations, showcasing the industry’s latest technology, products and services.
