Kvichak Marine Appoints Kolb to Sales

Kvichak Marine Industries in Seattle Washington announces the appointment of Tim Kolb to their sales team.  Kolb has been with Kvichak for five years as a project manager.  His most recent projects included three 72-ft pilot boats for the Dutch Pilotage Organization in the Netherlands and the Bridge Erection Boat prototypes currently undergoing testing by the US Army, Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command.  Tim brings to us 10 years of experience in the aluminum boat building business.

Kvichakā€™s Dutch Pilot Boat Christening

On September 29 the owners of Kvichak Marine Industries represented their company at the christening of P/Vs Aquila, Draco and Orion. These three 72-ft pilot boats were designed by Camarc Design, Ltd., UK and built at the Kvichak yard in Seattle for the Dutch Pilotage Organization, Loodswezen. The christening gala was held at Hoek van Holland, the Netherlands . The vessels are powered by two, Tier II compliant Caterpillar ACERT C32 engines, coupled to ZF 3050 marine gears driving Hamilton 651 water jets.

Kvichak Delivers Dutch Pilotage Organization

Kvichak Marine Industries has recently delivered  three 72 ft all weather fast pilot boats designed by Camarc Design Ltd., UK for the Dutch Pilotage Organization, Loodswezen. P/V Aquila, P/V Draco and P/V Orion are being shipped to Europe with delivery expected in late July. The vessels will be in full operation in the ports along the Dutch coast after crew member training. These environmentally friendly vessels meet the stringent emission regulations set by the authorities of the Port of Rotterdam.

Dutch Pilot Boats Under Construction

Kvichak Marine Industries and Camarc Design, UK have teamed up once again this year in close cooperation with the owner to design and build three 72-ft all weather fast pilot boats, for pilot operation in the ports along the Dutch coast and operated by the Dutch Pilotage Organization ( DPO). With a 75.1-ft overall length and an overall beam of 22.3 ft, the all-aluminum vessels are powered by twin Caterpillar C-32 ACERT engines, coupled to ZF 3050 marine gears. Hamilton 651 water jets are the chosen propulsors.
