First LNG Tanker Arrives Near Venture Global's Louisiana Calcasieu Plant

A tanker, the Yiannis, arrived near Venture Global LNG's Calcasieu Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Louisiana on Monday and could be first vessel to pick up a cargo at the facility, according to data from Refinitiv.Last week, Venture Global sought permission from federal energy regulators to load the first commissioning cargo from Calcasieu Pass.Venture Global asked the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to authorize the first cargo before Feb. 9 so the company could load that cargo on or after that date.Officials at Venture Global were not immediately available to comment on whether the Yiannis would be the first tanker to pick up LNG at the facility.Calcasieu started producing LNG around Jan.

NYK Fixes Newbuild LNG Carrier with Edison

Japanese shipping and logistics giant Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) has signed a contract with Edison SPA, a Milan-based energy company, to charter out a newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for up to 20 years, including optional extension periods.The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2022 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. The newly built LNG carrier will be propelled by WinGD-manufactured, dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engines.Dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engines are two stroke large bore slow-speed diesel engines able to operate on marine gas oil or boil off gas stored as liquid at cryogenic temperatures.The carrier will also feature an Air Liquide–manufactured Turbo-Brayton refrigeration system that can tap surplus boil-off gas.

PGNiG, Venture Global LNG Deal for 2 MTPA of LNG

For a 20-year term, Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) will receive liquefied natural gas from the USA for domestic customers or for resale.The new contracts will provide a total of 2 MTPA of LNG, which is approximately 2.7 billion m³ of natural gas after regasification, and this equals – depending on the vessel capacity – over 25 cargoes a year.Under the agreements, PGNiG will purchase LNG on a free on board (FOB) basis starting from the commercial operation date of the Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility, currently expected in 2022, and the commercial operation date of the Venture Global Plaquemines LNG export facility…

Repsol to Buy LNG from Venture Global

Venture Global LNG announced that it has entered into a 20-year, binding Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Repsol for the supply of one million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas from the Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility, currently under development in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, USA.Under this agreement, Repsol will purchase LNG on a free on board (FOB) basis for a 20-year term, starting from the commercial operation date of the Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility, currently expected in 2022 upon Final Investment Decision and the satisfaction of other customary conditions precedent.Mike Sabel and Bob Pender…

PGNiG and Venture Global LNG Sign Pact

Polish Oil & Gas Company (PGNiG) and Venture Global LNG have entered into an agreement relating to the terms of delivery of liquefied natural gas from Calcasieu Pass LNG and Plaquemines LNG facilities. The agreement defines basic terms and conditions of a 20-year contract for the sales and purchase of two million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG, which equals about 2.7 bcm following regasification. Cargoes will be supplied from Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG export facilities which are expected to be completed in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Both terminals will be located by the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana. The documents were signed during the currently held World Gas Conference in Washington, DC.
