EFC Delivers Equipment to Chinese Shipyard

EFC Group has completed a $2.2million contract to design and build a BOP and diverter control system for China-based Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co (DSIC Offshore). The system is installed onboard DSIC’s newbuild jack-up drilling rig, JU2000E-13 for drilling contractor Apexindo, where it will be known as Tasha. Bob Will, CEO at EFC Group, said, “This is a major contract for EFC, continuing our growth plan to become world class leader in control systems for both rig upgrades and new builds alike. It is also a significant project that’s been supported by our manufacturing base in Forres which gives us the additional capacity required to undertake projects of this scale. Will added, “EFC aims for this to be the start of a strong relationship with DSIC.

EFC Looks to Recruit 50 Staff in Highlands

EFC Group, a leading designer and manufacturer of instrumentation, monitoring, handling and control systems for the global oil and gas industry, has announced plans to recruit up to 50 people in the Highlands as part of its rapid expansion in the area. The recruitment drive follows an acceleration of EFC’s growth strategy in Forres, with the launch of a second base in Enterprise Park in May this year representing a £100,000 investment by the firm. A satellite office was previously opened in the same business park in September 2012.

EFC Group Launches Next Phase of NE Scotland Expansion

EFC Group, a designer and manufacturer of instrumentation, monitoring, handling and control systems for the global oil and gas industry, announced the launch of a new manufacturing plant in Moray. The base in Enterprise Park, Forres marks the Group’s second phase of expansion in the area and a £100,000 investment. This follows the opening of a new satellite office in the same business park in September 2012. The new 4,000-square-foot plant has been opened six months ahead of schedule, demonstrating how EFC Group is driving forward its aggressive growth strategy.

EFC Group Develops RIS for Baker Hughes

Mastiff™ RIS proved successful after significant testing. Ted Littlechild, sales director at EFC Group, said: “The Mastiff™ RIS provides operators with an alternative method for carrying out pipe installation and retrieval operations, which typically require a costly offshore rig. Using the RIS reduces the cost of abandonment, workover and drive pipe pre-installation operations. The Mastiff™ RIS was initially conceived for well bore tubular extraction during well abandonment and conductor pre-installation activities, although it carries the potential for useful work in many other offshore well servicing and construction type activities.

Rigless Intervention System for Baker Hughes
