2 Damen Tugs for KOTUG’s European Harbor Towage

Damen Shipyards Group delivered two sister tugs ATD 2412 ‘ZP Bison’ and ‘ZP Bear’ to strengthen KOTUG’s European Harbour Towage. On April 8th 2015, the sister tugs were handed over by designer and builder Damen to her owner Elisabeth Ltd in order to operate for KOTUG. ZP Bison will operate in the Port of Bremerhaven and ZP Bear on the River Thames in London. Damen Services arranged the transport from Vietnam to Rotterdam, where they handed over the tugs in a turnkey operation. After their arrival the tugs have been equipped and prepared to commence their towage activities in Bremerhaven and on the River Thames from April 17th, 2015.

Two New Tugs to Serve Western Australia

RT Endeavour and RT Discovery in Hong Kong awaiting deployment to Western Australia

Robert Allan Ltd. The RT Discovery and RT Endeavour, ART 80-32 class Rotortugs, have been delivered by Cheoy Lee Shipyards to Owner’s Elisabeth Ltd. The vessels are currently in Hong Kong and are ready for deployment to a busy commodity Port in Western Australia. These two vessels represent the first half of Elisabeth Ltd’s four boat order with Cheoy Lee Shipyards. The Advanced Rotortug (ART) designs incorporate the patented triple Z-Drive Rotortug, concept, featuring enhanced omni-directional maneuverability and the benefits of a fully redundant and precise propulsion machinery configuration.

RT Endeavour Delivered in Hong Kong

Second ART 80-32 Rotortug delivered to Elisabeth Ltd. RT Endeavour, the second of four Rotortugs on order with Cheoy Lee shipyards Ltd. and designed by Robert Allan Ltd., sailed Hong Kong waters Saturday, November 15, 2014 on her way from the build yard to her new owner Elisabeth Ltd., who took delivery of the vessel in Hong Kong. ART 80-32 Rotortug Delivered in Malta

RT Discovery, the first of the next generation Rotortugs, was delivered by Cheoy Lee Shipyards Ltd. to her new owner Elisabeth Ltd. in Malta. The new Robert Allan Ltd. designed 80 tons harbor/escort tug features the Rotortug propulsion configuration. RT Discovery’s maneuverability and strength provide operators with maximum tugboat safety during operations and enhance the operational possibilities enormously, Rotortug said. The RT Discovery has a bollard pull of more than 86 tons and a maximum speed of 13.5 knots ahead and sailing astern, and has the capability of 7.5 knots sidestepping.

AKA Partners with KOTUG International

Aspin Kemp & Associates (AKA) announced a collaboration with KOTUG International for the newbuild construction of two hybrid Advanced Rotortugs. Following AKA and KOTUG’s hybrid retrofit of the RT Adriaan in early 2012, the team are partnering once again to provide the next generation of hybrid Rotortugs for KOTUG’s fleet on behalf of Elisabeth Ltd. based in Malta. AKA’s XeroPoint hybrid marine propulsion system will be installed onboard Rotor tug’s new and innovative tugboat design, the Advanced Rotor tug, ART 80-32 at Damen Shipyards.

Damen to Build Rotortug Pair for Elisabeth Ltd.

Rotortug said that Elisabeth Ltd. has placed a new building order with Damen Shipyards for the construction of two Hybrid Advanced Rotortugs, ART 80-32 of 80 tons bollard pull. imultaneously Elisabeth Ltd ordered two ART 80-32, with Fifi 1, at Cheoy Lee Shipyards Ltd. They  will be the first series of Rotortugs to be built at Damen Shipyards and Cheoy Lee Shipyards Ltd and will be added to the Kotug fleet. This ART 80-32 is the  third Rotortug design originating from  the co-operation between Rotortug and Robert Allan Ltd and the follow up on the first Hybrid Rotortug ever…

Damen Delivers Two Azimuth Tractor Drive Tugs 2412 to Kotug

Kotug  International will shortly be putting two new Damen Azimuth Tractor Drive Tugs 2412 into operation into the German Port of Hamburg. These tugs were ordered by Elisabeth Ltd in Malta and are being chartered by the Kotug  Group. Kotug  is a fast growing towage company expanding its innovative services to ports and terminals in Europe (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven), West-Africa and Australia. Recently Kotug  started towage activities in the new German deep sea port Wilhelmshaven.
