Tecnitas Launches Energy Management Software Tool
Tecnitas, the consultancy arm of Bureau Veritas, has launched a powerful new software tool, E2, aimed at optimising energy usage for both individual ships and across fleets. E2 is a user-friendly tool which enables shipowners to maximise the gains in energy efficiency and emission reduction which can be obtained through proper use of IMOâs Ship Energy Efficiency Monitoring Plan (SEEMP). Claude Andreau, head of engineering, Tecnitas, says, âThe SEEMP seeks to improve a shipâs energy efficiency through four steps: planning, implementation, monitoring and measurements and self-evaluation and improvement. We hear a lot about energy saving devices which can be fitted and operational savings which can be madeâŚ
SEEMP Manual Published
BIMCO releases âThe Step-by-Step Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) Manualâ in association with Fathom. The manual, which can be utilized as a shipâs official Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP), has been developed to enable ship owners to plan, manage and document the energy efficiency performance of their ships. SEEMP regulation becomes mandatory from January 2013. âBIMCO supported the SEEMP regulation to enable ship-owners to better optimise their energy consumption.
