O’Brien Joins Vigor as EVP

Vigor has announced the addition of Jackie O’Brien to Vigor’s leadership team. As EVP of Strategy and Business Development, O’Brien will report directly to the CEO and play a key role in driving the development and execution of Vigor’s growth strategy as a leading industrial company. She will oversee business development for all Vigor business units including defense, aerospace, infrastructure, alternative energy and marine.O’Brien comes to Vigor following a twenty-five year career at Alcoa and Arconic, created by  Alcoa’s separation into two independent companies in 2016.

Charity Selected for 2015 OTC Dinner

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) announces the 2015 beneficiary of the Annual OTC Dinner—the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) and the Petroleum Equipment & Services Association (PESA) Energy Education Center for the benefit of the Energy Institute High School. OTC will host the fifth Annual OTC Dinner on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at NRG Stadium in Houston. The event recognizes industry achievements, raises funds for a worthy cause, and provides an excellent opportunity for industry leaders to network with colleagues from around the world.

BHP Billiton Communities and EWB Provide Support to 5 Students

Five university students were this week given the opportunity to pursue studies in sustainable development with the support of scholarships provided by Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and BHP Billiton Sustainable Communities (BSC). The EWB Challenge Scholarship program provides development opportunities, internships and research projects to the value of A$10,000 for emerging leaders in the field of sustainable development so they can create positive change through humanitarian engineering. Engineers Without Borders Australia CEO, Lizzy Brown, said the EWB Challenge Scholarship program supported the development of future leaders in humanitarian engineering. “The program supports students through their final three years of university study.
