Shearwater in 'Pioneering' Seismic Survey Project Offshore Norway

Offshore seismic survey specialist Shearwater on Friday announced a new project with the Austrian oil firm OMV for a "pioneering" towed streamer survey with Ocean Bottom Nodes over the Berling gas and condensate discovery in the Norwegian Sea. Spanning 1040 sq.km, this hybrid survey starts in July 2023 and will last for three months. Shearwater's vessels, SW Tasman and Oceanic Vega, will lead the operations. Havila Scores Extensions for Two PSV Charters

Havila Shipping announced it has secured contract extensions for two of its platform supply vessels (PSV).The Norwegian offshore support vessel owner said on Tuesday it has entered into an agreement with Equinor Energy AS for the PSV Havila Clipper for extension of the existing contract until June 2024. It is also agreed an optional period for 6 months for the period to December 2024.In addition, Havila said it entered into contract with Peterson Den Helder BV for two optional periods each of one year, for the PSV Havila Borg.

DOF, Solstad Offshore Win PSV Deals in Norway, Brazil

Norwegian offshore vessel owners DOF and Solstad on Monday said they'd secured vessel work in Norway and Brazil, respectively.DOF said that Norway's Equinor Energy AS had exercised its option to extend the firm period of the contract for Skandi Flora platform supply vessel by one year. Excelerate, Equinor Perform First STS LNG Transfer

Equinor, Faroe Petroleum in Asset Swap

Equinor Energy Strikes Gas in Barents Sea

Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor Energy has made discovery containing up to 24billion cubic feet of gas in the Barents Sea. Two exploration targets were found, with the first containing between 10 and 20billion cubic feet, the other between one and four billion.The discovery’s profitability is currently unclear, said a statement from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD)."Equinor Energy AS has completed the drilling of wildcat well  about 15 kilometres northwest of discovery well (Atlantis) and 370 kilometres north of Hammerfest. MOL Acquires Stake in AKOFS of Norway

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL)  announced that MOL and Mitsui & Co have entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire shares in AKOFS Offshore AS, which is owned by Akastor ASA, Norway. After in-kind contribution of the company of owner and leasing the subsea support vessel, Skandi Santos, which MOL, Mitsui & Co., and AKOFS are jointly operating since November 2016, MOL's acquisition amount will be about JPY 8 billion. MOL's acquisition of shares in AKOFS means MOL will become more deeply involved in the operation and ship management of subsea support vessels, marking its full-scale move into this field. AKOFS currently operates three subsea support vessels.
