Fairweather Recognized for Safety & Health

Fairweather, LLC was a presenter at the recent 2015 Alaska Governor's Safety & Health Conference, addressing relevant health, safety and environment (HSE) topics and earning two significant HSE achievement awards. The conference, hosted by the Alaska Safety Advisory Council, was held at the Dena'ina Convention Center in Anchorage, March 24-26. The goal of the event was to encourage the coordination and sponsorship of policies, activities and actions designed to reduce the loss of human and material resources in the state of Alaska. Fairweather was recognized with the 2015 Governor's Award for Safety Excellence at the conference. This award is presented to Alaskan companies that demonstrate exemplary safety and health procedures and good corporate citizenship.

Experience Counts in the Arctic

Edison Chouest’s Fairweather, LLC lessens Arctic risk while increasing efficiencies in a challenging environment. As interest in offshore commerce in the Arctic increases, key components of any successful operation in this theatre include logistics, assets, and of course, a healthy dose of experience while operating in cold weather environments. To that end, Fairweather LLC’s Arctic operations include the Deadhorse Aviation Center (DAC). Strategically located at Prudhoe Bay, DAC provides oil companies and their suppliers with an aviation command center to manage both onshore operations and Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) exploration and production activities on the Arctic Ocean and Beaufort Sea.

Fairweather LLC Names Davey GM

Fairweather, LLC has announced the appointment of Lori Davey as the company’s new general manager. Davey will be responsible for directing all of Fairweather’s business activities and overseeing the company’s expansion and management of Deadhorse Aviation Center. A member of the Edison Chouest Offshore group of companies, Fairweather LLC is a 38-year-old Alaskan company and a leader in providing remote medical, aviation, logistics and scientific support services to Alaska’s natural resource industry.

Olgoonik/Fairweather Wins BOEM Contract

Olgoonik/Fairweather, LLC, in conjunction with a team of scientists from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of Texas at Austin, the Florida Institute of Technology, Battelle Memorial Institute and Kinnetic Laboratories, Inc., has been awarded the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) contract to continue environmental monitoring research in the Beaufort Sea. Following the recent acquisition of VDOS, a worldwide company in airborne remote sensing operations, Fairweather, LLC has announced the formation of subsidiary Tulugaq, LLC -- the result of a partnership between Fairweather, LLC, Olgoonik Corporation and Kaktovik Iñupiat Corporation. The company was formed to bolster Fairweather’s remote sensing and real-time scientific data collection capabilities utilizing specialized manned and unmanned airborne assets to support offshore oil and gas exploration and production efforts in the Arctic.

Chouest Appoint Rick Fox to Lead Alaska Operations

The Edison Chouest Offshore group of companies (ECO) has announced the appointment of Rick Fox as senior vice president and general manager of Alaska operations. Fox will be responsible for leading all ECO vessel activities in the Arctic, as well as overseeing the operation of Chouest affiliates Fairweather, LLC, Deadhorse Aviation Center, Tulugaq, LLC and VDOS, LLC (Virtual Data Operations Support). ECO operates a fleet of over 200 highly-specialized support vessels, ranging from 87 to 360 feet in length, serving a global customer base.
