Burger Boat Company announced that Sycara IV, 151-ft Fantail Motor Yacht has been selected by the International Superyacht Society membership as a finalist for the 2010 International Superyacht Society Design Awards in the Power: 40-65m category. Each year the International Superyacht Society recognizes yacht owners, builders, designers, interior designers, naval architects and stylists at its annual awards gala. This year’s awards ceremony will be held Thursday October 28, 2010 during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Burger Boat Company is proud to announce the delivery of Sycara IV, a 151.2 ft Fantail Motor Yacht, to her owners. Imagine going back to a time when people actually knew how to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of yachting. Owners of Sycara IV, Ray and Elsie Catena, were committed to exactly that – recapturing the splendor, grace and charm of an era gone by – when Sycara IV was designed. This was their inspiration for Sycara IV, a traditionally styled, early 1920’s era, Fantail Cruiser.

Sycara IV, a classically-styled custom 151 ft Fantail Motor Yacht, underwent an extensive sea trial on Lake Michigan where all systems were tested. Her owners, being particularly concerned about the environment, wanted this yacht to have low fuel consumption and a small wake that would not cause damage to the shoreline. The sea trials confirmed that while cruising effortlessly at 12 ½ knots with a very small wake Sycara IV burned only 27 gallons per hour, generator included. Sycara…
