Cosco Shipping Ports to Build Freight Station at Khalifa Port

Abu Dhabi Ports and Cosco Shipping Ports Limited (CSP) and Abu Dhabi Ports broke ground for the construction of a new container terminal at Khalifa Port during a high-profile event on Sunday, reported WAM. The ports also signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports Company for a container freight station, which is expected to be the largest in the region. The new container freight station will provide Abu Dhabi trade with a state of the art facility offering bonded 'LCL/FCL' consolidation and de-consolidation services, cross stuffing, cargo weight reduction, short term warehousing for de-consolidated cargo as well as easy connectivity with the container terminals in Khalifa Port.

Crowley Names Vargas VP, Business Development

Veteran sales executive in ocean transportation and logistics Daniel Vargas has been appointed vice president of international business development to support the Crowley Maritime Corp. liner and logistics services groups. Kuehne + Nagel to Disclose CO2 Emissions for Seafreight

Kuehne + Nagel has expanded its sustainability offering for global seafreight services: As of May 2017, the total amount of CO2 emissions generated by seafreight ship-ments is printed on each invoice assisting shippers to identify their carbon footprint from transport operations. With this initiative Kuehne + Nagel customers are able to improve the analysis, reporting and management of CO2 emissions caused by their transport chain and thus achieve long-term reduction of the environmental impact. For the calculation of the shipment CO2 data imprinted on its freight invoice, Kuehne + Nagel is using the data of its online Global Seafreight Carbon Calculator (GSCC), providing instant overviews of CO2, SOx and NOx emissions for FCL and LCL movements from door-to-door.

Samskip Logistics Opens New York Office

With a presence on the U.S. market since 1994, Samskip Logistics has taken the next step by opening a new US head office in New York under the management of Paul Dean. For over two decades, the company has operated two offices in Norfolk, Va. and in Seattle. Samskip Logistics now plans to open more offices in the United States. Troy Container Lines Secures Rotterdam Agent

American-owned NVOCC Troy Container Line announced it has secured a new agent partnership agreement with Rotterdam-based NVOCC NVO Consolidation for both LCL and FCL import and export consolidation services.   “NVO Consolidation has an all-star team of logistics professionals from the Rotterdam market,” commented Chris Hellow, Troy’s COO of Imports. “I am very excited about this new partnership and looking forward to working closely with the NVO Consolidation team to further enhance services in the Rotterdam market.”   In announcing the agreement, Troy Container Line said it anticipates continued demand as a full service provider to and from Europe, and will continue to develop services in this trade lane, as well as around the world.

CaroTrans Launches US-Japan LCL Export Service

Global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans announced a new weekly less than container load (LCL) service from Atlanta to major markets in Japan including: Tokyo, Yokohama, Kobe, Nagoya and Osaka. This service eliminates transshipment and double handling in Los Angeles and Busan. Freight moves from Atlanta to Tokyo in 29 days, Yokohama in 30 days, and Osaka, Nagoya and Kobe in 33 days. Kestrel Liner Agencies, SSL Extend Logistics Cooperation

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics (SSL) and Kestrel Liner Agencies / Tropical Shipping have agreed to extend their cooperation to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. CEVA Opens 4th Chicago Office

CEVA Logistics, one of the world's leading supply chain management companies, has expanded its market presence in Chicago with the opening of a fourth facility. Offshore firm's IPO may give Singapore market shot in the arm

This would be only the second mainboard IPO in Singapore this year. Singapore's IPO market lacklustre in recent years, but oil and gas related offerings find favour in Singapore. A major operator of maritime support vessels controlled by Malaysia's richest man is seeking up to $380 million in a Singapore IPO - a boost to the city-state's stock market which has seen just one other mainboard listing this year. The deal from PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH), the largest Asia-based international operator of support vessels for offshore oilfields, comes as Singapore's IPO market has struggled in recent years. Most big-ticket listings in Asia opt for Hong Kong where there is more robust demand from Chinese and international investors.

Troy Announces Italy Express Service

Troy Container Line has announced an improved express service from Genoa, Italy to New York. Along with its partner Combi Line International Spa, the companies will now offer a 10-day transit from Genoa in addition to pick-ups throughout Italy. CaroTrans, MOLAX LINE Partner for U.S.-Northern Asia Service

CaroTrans, a global NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, announced a new cooperation with MOLAX LINE, an independent NVO in South Korea, which the companies say will create a stronger, more robust LCL service network in the transpacific trade. CaroTrans Bolsters Service with New Philippines Partnership
