RINA Group Widens Gas Sector Services
International classification, certification and engineering group RINA said it has widened its services to the global gas industry. While its traditional classification society arm RINA Services has recently approved a new Compressed Natural Gas carrier to aid the exploitation of marginal fields, the groups’ engineering arm, D’Appolonia, is delivering geotechnical, social and environmental services to the Mozambique LNG development. The gas market and technology are constantly changing, and RINA Services and D’Appolonia lead those changes, according to the group. The first offshore FSRU, the first FLNG project, the first marine CNG ship and the longest offshore pipeline were all delivered with RINA expertise and assistance.
Fincantieri Offshore Chooses AVEVA Software
One of the world’s largest shipbuilders uses AVEVA software to design next-generation drillship. Fincantieri Offshore has signed a contract with AVEVA to implement AVEVA Marine software in the concept design phase of Proxima, a major offshore drillship project. Proxima is a revolutionary design with an innovative drilling system that significantly increases the speed of the drilling process. It can therefore be a powerful tool for drilling contractors to boost their profitability, not only by drilling more efficiently, but also by drilling wells that were not previously possible.
Fincantieri & Norway's NLI to Collaborate in Mobile Offshore Rig Sector
The agreement includes the development of an innovative high quality drilling tower. For NLI the partnership is a milestone. In 1974 they delivered the first derrick to the Norwegian offshore industry. Most recently they have developed a drill tower solution new to the global market. From now on the Fincantieri and NLE will include each other when approaching the market and present their projects to the various contractors and operators / oil companies. This agreement follows the recent creation of the new Fincantieri Offshore Business Unit, dedicated to the commercialization and production of high valued offshore vessels such as Drill ships, Semisubmersibles Drilling Rigs, Pipe Layers, Construction Vessels and Non Standard Supply Vessels.
