Greece's First FSRU Project Starts with Conversion at Keppel

Work has begun to develop Greece’s first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore, with the conversion of GasLog’s DNV classed LNGC Gaslog Chelsea, recently renamed Alexandroupoli.Following conversion, FSRU Alexandroupoli will serve as an offshore storage and regasification facility and will be part of the Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System (INGS). The 155,000-cbm LNG carrier, recently reflagged to the Greek flag, is the first FSRU conversion under the Greek Flag for operation in the Aegean Sea.

Keppel: Converted FLNGs Have Smaller Carbon Footprint Compared to Newly Built Units

Nakilat - Keppel Completes First FSRU Project

Qatar-based Shipyard, Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM) has recently received its first floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) project at the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard.The FSRU owned by Excelerate Energy (USA) will undergo drydocking, maintenance and upgrades at the facility, which is renowned for its expertise in handling gas carriers.During its drydocking, the FSRU will undergo several modifications and retrofitting of new systems, including the installation of a ballast water treatment system (BWTS). Nakilat Profit Jumps by 8.5%

India's First FSRU Based LNG Terminal Launched

H-Energy Gateway, the energy venture of Hiranandani Group, launched India’s first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) based LNG terminal at JSW Jaigarh Port in Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. The Jaigarh Port is owned & operated by JSW Infrastructure (the maritime infrastructure development arm of $ 12 billion JSW Group). The LNG terminal was inaugurated today, by the Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. H-Energy’s LNG Terminal has an annual capacity of 4 MMTPA and is scheduled for commercial operations by Q4 2018 and will be capable of reloading LNG into other vessels. The launch of India’s first FSRU based LNG terminal marks a new era of opportunities to drive the development of port based industries and social infrastructure in India.

Hamworthy Supplies Asian FSRU

Hamworthy has secured the contract to supply liquefied natural gas handling technology for what will be Asia’s first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU). The marine and offshore fluid handling systems specialist has signed a contract with Golar LNG to deliver a liquefied natural gas regasification system for the West Java FSRU, which will be Indonesia's first LNG regasification terminal. In October, Golar LNG Energy announced that it had been selected by PT Nusantara Regas, a joint venture between Pertamina and PGN, to provide the West Java FSRU. The project will see the existing LNG carrier Khannur converted into a floating terminal that can be situated offshore or at a new or purpose-built jetty/pier.
