James Fisher’s Second Dual-fuel Vessel Enters Service

James Fisher and Sons plc announced it has taken delivery of its second 6,000dwt LNG dual-fuel tanker, Lady Maria Fisher, which will be traded by James Fisher Everard (JFE) alongside its existing fleet.Built and launched at China Merchants Jinling (CMJL) shipyard in Yangzhou, China, the vessel is currently transporting cashew nut shell oil from Vietnam to Europe, where it will then be processed into bio-diesel.The newbuild and sister vessel Sir John Fisher delivered in November 2022 will replace two of James Fisher’s existing tankers and will be able to carry more cargo.

James Fisher Sells DSV to Seamec

Marine services company James Fisher and Sons said it has sold another one of its dive support vessels (DSV) to India-based Seamec Limited.The U.K.-based firm announced on Wednesday it entered into a memorandum of agreement for the sale of the 2007-built, 103.7-meter-long DSV Subtech Swordfish for $24 million.The deal remains subject to completion of the formal sale process, including issuing of notice of readiness and completion of flag requirements, James Fisher said.Under the agreement, James Fisher will maintain access to the Swordfish until the end of Q3 2023, enabling it to complete existing and potential customer commitments, the company said.

First Shore-to-ship LNG Bunkering for SIEM Car Carrier

Eagle LNG marked a series of firsts when it fueled the 7,500-car carrier SIEM Aristotle from its Talleyrand LNG Bunker Station at the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) in Jacksonville, Fla. It was the first time SIEM has refueled the vessel from a landside bunkering facility and the first ship that Eagle LNG refueled of that size from the bunkering facility.SIEM Aristotle is the first deep-sea pure car, truck carrier (PCTC) equipped with dual-fuel engines, designed to operate on LNG and marine gas oil (MGO).

Port of Beaumont Starts Construction on Main Street Terminal I

The Port of Beaumont announced its Board of Commissioners have approved a $57.3 million construction bid for a project aimed at increasing the port’s general cargo handling capacity by more than 15%. Phase II of the Main Street Terminal 1 project, awarded to McCarthy Building Companies, includes demolition of a failed dock structure and construction of a new state-of-the-art general cargo dock. The Main Street Terminal 1 project, funded in part by 2017 General Obligation Bonds, a 2019 U.S. DOT BUILD grant, and Port revenues, is expected to be complete by June 2024.

James Fisher Sells Dive Support Vessel to Seamec

UK-based offshore services provider James Fisher and Sons has agreed to sell its dive support vessel [Subtech] Paladin.The company has sold the DSV to the Indian offshore services provider Seamec for $17.3 million."This announcement is in line with the Group's newly stated capital allocation policy to reduce leverage, in the short term, through the sale of non-core assets," James Fisher said.The 104 meters long vessel, previously known as Toisa Paladin was built by Kleven in 2008.
