FLNG Gimi Delivered and Sailing to Africa

Golar LNG has announced that the FLNG Gimi has departed Singapore’s Seatrium Shipyard and is now sailing under its own propulsion, supported by an escort tug, toward BP’s purpose-built Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) hub offshore Mauritania and Senegal.The voyage is expected to take around 60 days, including refuelling stops in Mauritius prior to rounding the Cape of Good Hope and in Namibia prior to its arrival. Samsung Heavy Industries Taps GTT for Tank Design of New FLNG Unit

French engineering firm GTT said Tuesday it had received an order from its South Korea-based shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of a new Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) unit. Floating Production Market Is Booming

The market for floating production systems is booming, according to World Energy Reports' (WER) latest assessment of activity and developments in the offshore oil and gas market.“Business conditions and market sentiment in the deepwater sector have seldom been so positive,” said Jim McCaul, founder and principal analyst of WER.“Major upstream operators continue to rake in record cash and spending on new upstream projects has been ramping up,” McCaul said. “Activity has returned to levels last seen before the 2008 global financial meltdown.

Golar LNG Pact with BR Distribuidora

Petronas in Game for a Third FLNG Unit

GTT's Vessel Order Book Hit Record

French technology company Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) announced that with 14 orders for LNG carriers booked in the first quarter of 2019, its main business activity is at an all-time high."The LNG carriers will all be equipped with recent GTT technologies (Mark III Flex+, Mark III Flex and NO96 GW). Record Level of New Orders for GTT in 2018

French shipping engineering company Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) said that the new ship orders in 2018 surged on year to 50 from 21, making its sales hit a 10-year high, driven by demand from natural gas liquefaction units in construction, in particular in the US.GTT won 48 orders for LNG carriers and two orders for Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs)."Most of these LNG carriers orders are intended for natural gas liquefaction units under construction, in particular in the United States. Stolt-Nielsen LNG, Golar LNG and Höegh LNG in Joint $182 Million Investment

Stolt-Nielsen Limited (Oslo Børs: SNI), Golar LNG Ltd and Höegh LNG Holdings Ltd. announced a combined investment commitment of $182 million in Avenir LNG Ltd. to pursue opportunities to deliver LNG to areas of stranded demand, as well as the development of LNG bunkering capabilities.The investment will be contributed as cash and equity-in-kind and will fund the construction of six small-scale LNG carriers, a small-scale storage terminal and regasification facilities.Avenir LNG was formed by Stolt-Nielsen in 2017 to provide LNG to markets lacking access to natural gas pipelines.

Wison Bags FEED Contract for FLNG Project from Western LNG

Wison Offshore & Marine and Western LNG signed a technical service agreement (TSA) for the new floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) project that Western is developing in British Columbia, Canada.Pursuant to the TSA, Wison will develop the basis of design (BOD) and carry out front-end engineering design (FEED) for the proposed FLNG to be sited at the proposed facility.Western has also agreed to the appointment of Wison as the EPC service provider for the floating liquefaction plant upon project FID.Under the terms of the TSA, Wison will provide a cost competitive FEED package utilizing its experienced in-house design team and execution methodology that has been optimized based on the successful delivery of the Caribbean FLNG.

GTT Revenue Grows Thanks to Strong LNG Market

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), on the back of liquefied natural gas (LNG) market growth, reported 12% growth in revenues linked to royalties  for the first half of 2018.Growth in LNG fuel and new partnerships aided the company achieving a revenue of 127.2 million euros ($148.2 million) during the first half of this year compared to 113.7 million euros recorded in the first half of 2017.GTT said that it has received 21 orders  during the first six months of the year.Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, said: "The first half of 2018 was characterised by the growth in the LNG market, with a very satisfying number of orders for LNG carriers, which confirms the trends that began last year.

GTT to Equip Samsung-built FLNG

GTT said it has received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to equip a new Floating Liquefied Natural Gas unit (FLNG), reportedly the second biggest in the world.   The new FLNG, with a capacity of 238,700 m3, will integrate eight LNG tanks equipped with the Mark III membrane containment system. The unit will be built at SHI Shipyard, based in South Korea, on behalf of the Oil and Gas company ENI (Eni East Africa SpA) and its delivery is scheduled in 2021. This FLNG will be operated off the cost of Mozambique.   In addition to this new order, the GTT membrane technology has been selected to equip the three FLNGs already ordered in the world. These units are being equipped with the NO96 system as well as the Mark III system.

Oil pricing continues to hover in the mid-$50s, market confidence is slowly returning and the production floater fabrication market is stirring. A major order for a production semi was placed in early January -- with Samsung receiving a contract to build the production semi for BP's Mad Dog Phase 2 project. The $1.27 billion unit will have capability to produce 110,000 b/d oil from 14 production wells. It will be used to develop further oil discoveries near the original Mad Dog Spar in the Green Canyon area of the GOM.
