Raytheon Anschütz Expands US operations

Raytheon Company announced the launch of its new subsidiary, Raytheon Anschuetz USA LLC, located in San Diego, Calif. According to the company, Raytheon Anschuetz USA LLC aims to reinforce customer care and support for Raytheon Anschütz navigation systems in the United States for commercial ship owners and shipyards as well as government entities, including the Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, Navy and Army. “In January 2012, Raytheon Anschütz returned to the U.S. navigation systems market with the establishment of a San Diego-based regional sales office. Now, we are taking the next step to becoming America’s new center of navigation excellence,” said Frank Christophersen, president of the new subsidiary.

SHIPPINGInsight 2013 Announces Agenda and Speaker List

The SHIPPINGInsight conference producers have finalized the agenda and confirmed speaker list for the 2013 Fleet Optimization Conference, scheduled for Oct. 22-24 at the Sheraton Stamford Hotel in Stamford, Conn. “The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Connect and Engage,’” said conference co-producer Frank Soccoli. “We are bringing together an impressive lineup of speakers, moderators, panelists, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates representing all segments of the shipping industry. New for 2013 is an extra LNG Workshop, which will take the form of a roundtable discussion of experts to consider the barriers, challenges, solutions and best practices for achieving widespread adoption of LNG as a marine fuel. The workshop is free for all registered delegates.

While the rest of the world is seemingly in contraction mode, and positive forecasts regarding the maritime industry are few and far between, one marine electronics major is in expansion mode, planting the seeds now and perhaps raising the flag for the inevitable rebound to come. Raytheon Anschütz announced last month that it is expanding its presence in the U.S. navigation systems market with the opening of its San Diego, Calif.-based operations in January 2012. Frank Christophersen, US Vice President Sales, was tapped to lead the effort, and in talking with Maritime Reporter he explained.

Raytheon Anschütz is expanding its presence in the U.S. navigation systems market with the opening of its San Diego, Calif.-based operations in January 2012. The business area will be co-located at Raytheon’s established facility, dedicated to the development and delivery of naval and maritime systems and technology. With the new office, Raytheon Anschütz focuses its capabilities in providing navigation systems and customer support to the U.S. maritime industry. The U.S. office will promote the full portfolio of Raytheon Anschütz’s navigation  components and solutions, including gyro compasses, autopilots and steering controls, radars, ECDIS and complete integrated bridge systems for both, new and retrofit projects.

Globe Wireless Reorganizes

Globe Wireless appointed Frank Christophersen as its new Vice President of European Sales. Christophersen joins Globe from Sperry Marine Systems. After seven years of leading the European Sales organization, Mike McNally will take the helm as the Vice President of Americas Sales. The Americas sales organization will be growing the in the weeks ahead. Walter Kane, the current VP of Americas, will be transitioning into the new Product Management group. The Product Management team is comprised of Globe's best in sales, engineering, and customer and technical support. Shane Rossbacher has recently been promoted to Vice President and will lead this team.
