ASNE to Host Gala and Navy Yard Tribute

Join the American Society of Naval Engineers on Thursday, February 20, for the Annual ASNE Honors Gala. 2012 Annual ASNE Award Winners

Each year, the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) celebrates excellence in naval engineering by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more facets of the industry. 2012 Gold Medal Award (Engineering) Recipient - RADM Thomas J. Eccles, USN Presented annually since 1958, the Gold Medal is given to an individual who has made a significant naval engineering contribution in a particular area during the past five years. Hepburn Appointed to Lead ASSA

On November 15, 2012 the American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association Board of Directors appointed Rick Hepburn, PE, CAPT, USN (Ret) as the second President of ASSA. Rick will work to achieve the ASSA vision to strengthen the capability within the United States for domestically producing the critical parts and equipment necessary for shipbuilding. Under Rick’s leadership, ASSA will continue to work closely with the US Congress, Navy, Coast Guard, Shipyards and other important maritime stakeholders. Rick will continue as President of Hepburn and Sons LLC, an engineering consulting firm offering support to Government and DoD Contractors in the fields of naval engineering, technology transition, system engineering, quality assessment, and ship design support.

ASNE Seeks Nominations for Annual Awards

The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Annual Awards Program celebrates excellence in the profession by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more facets of naval engineering. •    The Harold E. •    The Frank G. •    The Claud A. •    The Frank C. •    The Clifford G. NAVSEA Employees Recognized, ASNE Day 2010

Four Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) employees were recognized for engineering excellence, April 7-9, by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) at the society’s conference in Arlington, Va. NAVSEA’s Capt. Albert Grecco, Craig Brandenburg, Stephen Michetti, and Christopher C. Bassler received awards for their accomplishments. ASNE Day Slated for June 25 and 26

In Arlington, Virginia The American Society of Naval Engineers will ASNE Day on June 25 & 26. This event will address the challenge that is associated with designing and building naval ships and how important it is to take advantage of electric power systems. The event will include principal speakers like Gene Taylor, a panel that will be giving out information about affordable ship building, and technical paper sessions that include topics like modeling & simulation, as well as high power combat systems and sensors. On Monday night of June 25, the 2007 Honors Gala will be held. This black tie banquet affair will be to honor those who are receiving ASNE awards. Such awards include: The Gold Medal Award, Harold E.
