CMA CGM Caps Logistics Push with $5 Billion Bollore Deal

France's CMA CGM has completed a $5 billion takeover of Bollore Logistics, its biggest-ever acquisition, and said it had funds for more deals as it seeks to counter volatility in container shipping.The acquisition of the logistics division of French conglomerate Bollore, announced last year, closed on Thursday at a final price of 4.85 billion euros ($5.25 billion) after debt and cash adjustments.The deal will extend the reach of CMA CGM's CEVA Logistics unit into areas such as freight management for pharmaceutical, cosmetics and luxury firms.CMA CGM, based in Marseille and privately controlled

Veson Nautical to Acquire VesselsValue

Freight Tech Startup Forto Raises $240 Million in Softbank-led Round

Global Supply Lines Struggle to Clear Container Backlog After Suez Chaos

A backlog of container ships carrying consumer goods has grown in some key strategic ports after a near week-long blockage in the Suez Canal, adding to ongoing disruptions to global trade, industry sources say.Dozens of container ships were stuck when the 400-metre-long (430-yard) Ever Given ran aground in the canal on March 23, with specialist rescue teams taking almost a week to free the vessel.The suspension of sailings through the waterway left shipping companies - including container lines - with millions of dollars in extra costs

CEVA Logistics Acquires CMA CGM Log

CMA CGM is selling its freight management company CMA CGM Log for $105 million to the Swiss company CEVA Logistics. Recently CMA CGM has acquired a 30% stake in Ceva Logistic. CEVA will remain an independent and standalone listed company. Mobile Tech Helps Streamline European Passenger Port

The Port of Dover is turning to a raft of futuristic traffic sensors to keep billions of pounds of trade and millions of passengers on the move. Equipment known as BlipTrack, developed by Denmark-based BLIP Systems, is helping controllers at Europe’s busiest ferry port to reduce bottlenecks and improve vehicle movements by predicting potential traffic congestion on Dover’s coast bound A20. CaroTrans Adds Direct Montreal-Le Havre Service

Global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans today announced a new weekly less than container load (LCL) service from Montreal to Le Havre, France. This direct service has a 14 day transit. Freight can originate from as far west as Vancouver with handling provided by multiple container freight stations throughout Canada. The region in and around Montreal, the Quebec province, is a French speaking region with close, historical ties to France, and in turn robust trade, CaroTrans explained. Freight management at origin and destination is supported by a team including Odyssey, a CaroTrans partner in Canada, and CaroTrans’ Le Havre office. CaroTrans in Le Havre is positioned to expedite cargo release and on-carriage services.

CEVA is SuperGroup's Freight Manager

Crowley Maritime Corp. and IbisTek, LLC, have announced the formation of a joint venture, called IbisTek Crowley Limited, to provide a comprehensive package of project logistics, energy support services and emergency response capabilities in Ghana, West Africa. CEVA Expands Presence in Los Angeles Market
