A new floating reception terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) off the German Baltic Coast should be operational from the first quarter of 2024, gas pipeline operator Gascade, which is building its onshore connection, said on Wednesday.Located off Mukran on the Baltic Sea island of Ruegen, the terminal will host two floating storage and reception units (FSRUs) for LNG deliveries into the German mainland and for exports to eastern European neighbours, as the region ends reliance on Russian pipeline gas."All things going well…

Polish state-controlled oil and gas company Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA   (PGNiG) has released a statement claiming that the 4000th tank truck loaded with LNG has successfully left the Swionujscie terminal."Last year 1,794 LNG tank trucks filled with LNG left the Świnoujście terminal, compared to 1,523 in 2017. Since the mid-2016, when the LNG terminal became operational, a total of 4,000 tank trucks were loaded with LNG by PGNiG," it said in a statement.PGNiG strengthens its position in the small-scale LNG market, with almost 18% more liquefied gas dispatched by the Company from Świnoujście last year than in 2017.A vast majority of the LNG imported by PGNiG to Poland is regasified in the Świnoujście terminal and injected into the gas network.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Mundra LNG terminal that has been developed in keeping with his emphasis on clean energy.He said that the inauguration of the LNG terminal is the highlight of today's programme. H-Energy Gateway, the energy venture of Hiranandani Group, launched India’s first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) based LNG terminal at JSW Jaigarh Port in Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. The Jaigarh Port is owned & operated by JSW Infrastructure (the maritime infrastructure development arm of $ 12 billion JSW Group). The LNG terminal was inaugurated today, by the Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. H-Energy’s LNG Terminal has an annual capacity of 4 MMTPA and is scheduled for commercial operations by Q4 2018 and will be capable of reloading LNG into other vessels. The launch of India’s first FSRU based LNG terminal marks a new era of opportunities to drive the development of port based industries and social infrastructure in India.

New joint co-operation between Gasum and Wärtsilä aims to develop the utilization and distribution of natural energy gases in marine and land markets. Gasum, the Nordic leader in natural gases and Wärtsilä, a global leader in advanced technologies and complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets have signed a Joint Co-operation Agreement aimed at developing the utilization and distribution of natural energy gases in marine and land markets. The agreement between Gasum and Wärtsilä was signed August 29, 2016 and will run for several years. The purpose of the agreement is to develop the Gas Value Chain in order to advance carbon neutrality.

Demand from top Asian buyers drops sharply; Asian, European gas price spreads converge. Europe set to becoming dumping ground for LNG. Europe is set to become a dumping ground for the world's unwanted gas supplies this winter as Asian demand for sea-borne shipments fizzles out, leaving dealers to seek out willing buyers at rock bottom prices. Caught in a sharp downward spiral, Asian spot prices for liquefied natural gas (LNG) have more than halved this year as top Japanese and South Korean buyers, sitting on high stocks, scale back purchases while falling oil prices add to woes. Lower prices have gouged producer profits and hollowed out Asian markets at least until February, with Europe now the destination of choice for uncommitted supply, some traders and analysts say.
