UTM Offshore Taps KBR for Support at Nigeria's First FLNG Project

Engineering and construction services giant  KBR has won a contract with Nigeria's UTM Offshore to support the development of Nigeria's first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility.Acting as Owner's Engineers, KBR will be responsible for a multi-disciplined due diligence review of the Pre-Front End Engineering Design, being completed by Japanese engineering company JGC.UTM Offshore is leading the development of the 1.2 million tonnes per year FLNG facility in collaboration with LNG Investment Management Services…

Mozambique Awards Rovuma LNG Project Gig

Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV) has awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to a consortium of Fluor, JGC, and TechnipFMC for its Mozambique Rovuma LNG Phase 1 project in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.MRV, a joint-venture composed of Eni, ExxonMobil and CNPC, holds a 70% interest in the exploration and production concession of Area 4, with Galp, Kogas and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) each holding a 10% interest.The Rovuma LNG Project will produce, liquefy and market natural gas from three reservoirs of the Mamba complex located in the Area 4 block in the Offshore Rovuma Basin. W African Firm Builds LNG Import Capacity

Equatorial Guinea is set to construct the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and regasification plant in West Africa, advancing efforts to monetize gas resources through the creation of a domestic gas-to-power infrastructure.Located at the Port of Akonikien, the landmark regasification plant will enable the storage, transportation and distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the country’s mainland; 12 bullet tanks will carry 14,000 cubic meters of storage capacity, supported by a truck loading station and 12-kilometers of ten-inch gas and diesel pipelines; The project will be led by local construction and engineering firm Elite Construcciones…

TechnipFMC Awarded Pluto Contract

TechnipFMC said it has been awarded a contract by Woodside to upgrade the Pluto Platform Offshore for water treatment, located offshore Western Australia.The contract includes the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the Pluto Water Handling Module. This module, to be installed on the existing Pluto Alpha Gas Production Platform, will consist of facilities for water separation and treatment, together with upgraded power generation units.Nello Uccelletti, President of TechnipFMC's Onshore/Offshore business, commented, "We are honored to be entrusted with the execution of this prestigious contract which is a testimonial to our long-term partnership with Woodside and our leadership in the Gas Monetization industry.

TechnipFMC Grabs BP FPSO Design Contract

UK-based TechnipFMC has been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract by BP for the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for the Tortue/Ahmeyim Field Development, a major LNG (liquefied natural gas) project located offshore on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal. The agreement between the two companies provides a mechanism to allow a transition of the contract to an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract at a later stage. TechnipFMC will work on defining the technology and equipment scope and brings expertise to deliver major projects, leveraging extensive experience with Chinese fabrication .

Golar LNG Teams Up with Schlumberger

Golar LNG has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Schlumberger to co-operate on the global development of greenfield, brownfield and stranded gas reserves. Under the Memorandum, Golar and Schlumberger have agreed to jointly market gas monetization solutions to owners, investors and governments. Golar will contribute the Floating LNG assets and technology while Schlumberger, via its special project management division, will provide upstream development knowledge, resources and capital. The intention of this integrated offer is to gain access to a wide range of uneconomic gas reserves by delivering low-cost LNG production solutions.

Saipem Bags $750m E&C Contracts in Gulf of Mexico

Saipem has been awarded new offshore Engineering & Construction contracts in the Gulf of Mexico, for a total amount of approximately $750 million. Pemex has awarded Saipem an EPCI contract for the development of the Lakach field, located 98 km southeast of Veracruz and 131 km northwest of Coatzacoalcos, at a water depth varying between 850 and 1,200 metres. The scope of work of the contract involves the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the system connecting the offshore field with the onshore gas conditioning plant. This includes two 73 km long 18-inch diameter flowlines for the transportation of gas, and a main umbilical approximately 50 km long.

Ecospeed to Coat EXMAR Caribbean FLNG

In order to tap into Colombian stranded gas reserves, Pacific Rubiales Energy Corporation and EXMAR nv have partnered in a project to build and operate a floating LNG liquefaction, and storage unit, the Caribbean FLNG, which will be stationed at a jetty several kilometers off the Caribbean coast of Colombia for at least 15 years. In order to protect the hull of the Caribbean FLNG, keep it clean and facilitate class inspections over that time period without recourse to drydock and without causing harm to the local marine environment…

GE Oil & Gas, Rosneft, to Pursue Russian Energy Opportunities

Under the terms of the MOU, GE and Rosneft will form a joint working group to identify the range of potential opportunities for short and long–term opportunities, including equipment for Arctic offshore field development, gas monetization technologies and enhanced oil recovery and difficult reserve development. The MOU was signed by John Krenicki, GE vice chairman and president and CEO of GE Energy; and Igor Sechin, president of Rosneft. The agreement calls for a strategic, cooperative relationship that would (1) leverage GE Oil & Gas technologies to help Rosneft improve efficiency and yields in its oil and gas exploration and recovery operations, and (2) explore opportunities to jointly develop, manufacture and sell equipment for use in Russia’s oil and gas industry.
