GTT to Design LNG Tanks for Korean Shipyard

GTT received at the end of 2017 an order from a South Korean shipyard regarding the design of the LNG tanks of a new LNG carrier. Its delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020. GTT will design the LNG tanks of the unit, allowing for a capacity of 174,000 m3. The insulation solution Mark III Flex has been chosen for its ability to reduce the daily guaranteed Boil-Off gas rate to 0.085% of tank volume. 48 vessels in service already benefit from this technology. The shipowner and shipyard's names are kept confidential at this stage. Last month, GTT received an order from a South Korean shipyard regarding the design of the LNG tanks of 3 new LNG carriers. The deliveries are due in the first semester of 2020.

GTT to Equip Knutsen’s New LNG Carrier

GTT said it has received an order from Hyundai Heavy Industries to equip a new LNG carrier with its Mark III Flex containment system.   Hyundai's shipyard based in Ulsan, South Korea will build the vessel of 180,000 m3 on behalf of the Norwegian shipping company NORSPAN LNG XI AS (Knutsen). Delivery is scheduled in 2019.    Knutsen is a longstanding owner of LNG carriers equipped with membrane technology, with 10 vessels of this type.   GTT records the first LNG carrier order of the year. With its Mark III Flex containment system, GTT said it provides efficient insulation solution able to reduce the daily guaranteed boil-off gas rate to 0.085 percent of tank volume. The Mark and NO ranges have been designed to meet all the transport and storage requirements of liquefied gases.

Warro-5 flows Gas Testing to Start

Transerv Energy informed that fracture stimulation work has been successfully concluded at the Warro-5 well in WA’s Mid-West. The Warro-5 and Warro-6 wells are now being completed in preparation for long term gas testing. Warro-5 stimulation operations were completed on 7th January and all the equipment is now being demobilized from site. The final, second stage at Warro-5 resulted in the 305,000 pounds (138,400kg) of proppant being placed in the gas reservoir. Combined with the deeper Stage 1, Warro-5 has injected 385,000 pounds (175,000kg) of proppant over an interval 4330 – 4410mRT. Clean-up flows at Warro-5, conducted over the weekend yielded a sustained gas flow with a continuous flare. Like Warro-6, the gas rate could not be measured.

British Trader has been noted as a technologically advanced double hull LNG carriers, designed to meet world wide trading on the ship/shore compatibility and fuel tank capacity, double hulled cargo area with four cargo tanks constructed to GazTransport & Technigaz Mark III cargo containment system — for the carriage of LNG cargoes at cryogenic temperature (-163°C) and atmospheric pressure. The hull structure, which has been designed in accordance with the requirements of LR's ShipRight, has a fatigue life designed for a period of no less than 40 years. This vessel, with GTT Mark-III containment system, has been built for British owner, BP Shipping, can carry 138,200 cu.
